Just because they are more my generation, I'm voting The Jam - but neither of these deserve to go out at this stage.

It is a tricky this one. The Jam were the first band I loved, aged 7 or 8, influenced by big brothers. I've over listened to them though. I listen more now to the Kinks.

I have to say, I really don't like The Jam much. I don't care what Weller did or became after, he was a Tory at the time and Mods were right winger, aggro arseholes, the Brexit wankers of their time.

Punks and Mods were social, political and musical enemies.

Nothing will convince me that Weller wasn't and isn't a boring, self aggrandizing cunt.

And The Style Council were absolutely fucking dreadful.

Don't particularly agree about the Mods but The Jam & Paul Weller in general are overrated to fuck. Repped.

I got that, the Ziggy 'Motion Picture' live album and From the Makers Of... the Status Quo triple album compilation for Christmas when I was 16. Still listen to them all today.

Disagree with some of your post but The Style Council,mostly,wasn't my thing either. I am very surprised at the 'Weller is a tory' thing as I have (maybe distorted?) memories of him doing striking miners gigs?
