Fucking shit. International breaks again in October and November. What is this bullshit.

That is beyond ridiculous. Football as a spectacle is still as entertaining as it's ever been but as a business it seems to be turning into a bit of a fucking joke. Definitely one for the shitness of modern football thread.

What do they usually play in each break? A proper game and a friendly?

 

Just have one break of a fortnight in November and play the three proper games. Three international breaks before we've had about a third of a league campaign is utterly ridiculous.

 

Obviously all this shit is about money, buy there is absolutely no need for an International friendly that isn't within two weeks of a major international tournament starting.

It's only gonna get worse - this nations league shite is a deliberate attempt by uefa to try and move the dial away from the dominance of club footy a bit and fifa are looking at doing same.

 

The pointless friendlies were/are bad enough but at least players can get through them not trying/at half speed etc....being forced into more competitive games and fucking 'finals' in the years they usually get a break from Euros etc is just gonna see more injuries and more tiredness.

Same schedule as every year? Certainly were international games this time the last two years.

 

The number of dates is the same (possibly slightly less) but the Nations League will be played on dates that predominantly would have been friendlies. Not so noticeable this year as it’s only just started but should mean there are fewer in future.

 

It’s designed to have the big countries playing each other more often - money - but there are some concerning aspects too. I know Northern Ireland were compelled by UEFA to play a game on the spare date in November so we now have a friendly. Against the RoI.
