Friday Afternoon Procrastination

Slowest fucking period of the week. I swear it was 1pm fucking 10 hours ago. I work in business to business sales as a manager and on a Friday afternoon my team pretty much do admin work because hardly any of their clients are in.

Apart from coming on here what do you do to look busy / avoid conversation and get through this horrible time.

I've been sat on Google Maps and just travelled from Rio Grande to Pheonix.

Fucking hideous them last few hours on a Friday. The alcohol gets broken out at 4pm and everyone has a beer or a wine (not my teetotal self of course) so things loosen up a bit and not much happens workwise.

I do the Google maps thing too. I've toured most of the world's major cities.

I work from home on a Friday so my weekend starts at around 4pm on a Thursday.

To get me through the last few working hours of a week though, I tend to read Wikipedia. Find a movie I've liked and read up on how it was put together, how it was cast etc. Other things I'll read up on there are things like heists, major events in time and unsolved mysteries/conspiracies. Makes the afternoon fly by.

Last job I had I was in hotels all week and did my office admin on a Friday morning. I twatted it all week so my boss was cool with letting me head off around lunch as it was a 4 hour drive home. I had to be back in the office for our weekly get together at 9am Monday. That meant leaving around 5am but I did not mind that.

Anyway the stupid bints in the office got jealous of me leaving early and complained that they should be able to go too. The boss told them to fuck off but then under pressure was forced to move our weekly motivational Monday planning meeting to become a Friday 4pm activity summary meeting meaning it was nearly 10pm when I got home.

Did you ever watch High Stakes Poker? That was a great show.

High Stakes Poker was easily the best live poker show. I have zero interest in watching tournaments so having live cash games was ace, and HSP was ten years ago so every player wasn't a 23 year old wearing a scarf and saying nothing for 10 hours.

Poker Night Live was very different though. They had two presenters (about ten in total of which they rotated). They would show online cash, SnGs and MTTs but at levels where we could play. So we were all afforded minor celebrity status. The presenters would also play in the games sometimes, etc. It was generally just fucking ace. The actual advice seems dated now, but it's still ace to watch.

Watching poker makes watching 5 day cricket matches look like a 100m sprint. Cannot think of many things more boring.
