I feel sorry for the girl. Nobody should be in a position where they have those feelings. However, her having those feelings doesn't in any way turn some of the unsubstantiated allegations and claims she makes into proven statements of fact. I still require proof. As I would for all allegations.

One of my best mates has been going through similar sorts of mental problems recently. Part of it is that he was taking the worst possible interpretation of some fairly matter-of-fact stuff that some people were saying and he was feeling threatened as a result.

Like you say, I'd want to see proof.

The existence of a Labour group calling themselves "Friends" of the most fundamentally racist nation on Earth never ceases to baffle me.

The fact that people of the Jewish faith are believed to total 0.3% of the UK population but 30% of Labour MP's suggest that these hordes of anti-semites need to up their game.

She was a participant in the documentary.  She’s given evidence to to the EHRC if I remember correctly.

I was sorting through some car parts at my mates workshop while the rugby was on and didn't watch it.

Does this mean I'm now an enemy of the people?

Chev will be getting a visit from Norsefire’s finest...

Separate conversation, but a paranoia I have of any trade deal with the US. Trump has been saying for years he wants the prices other countries pay for medications brought in line with the States, and I read a comment attributed to Johnson recently saying our NHS wouldn’t become an insurance-based service like theirs, but pharmaceuticals could theoretically be on the table in negotiations. Seen nowt more than that, but I just have a sense of dread they may agree to more comparable pricing and the cost of meds to the NHS could even increase, with inevitable knock-on effects. It strikes me as exactly the sort of mealy-mouthed thing that shaved honey monster in a shit suit-looking cunt would do while claiming to have preserved the sanctity of our health service.

Just seen a trailer for an episode of Despatches on this very topic.

Appears, to my complete shock and surprise, this is absolutely the angle.

Aye, I think it’s on at 8 tonight.

It’s making me equally cynical about the timing of the Vertex deal for CF drugs.

A very significant PR buff-up for this government and US drug companies at an absolutely critical time for public opinion.

It’s life-changing, it’s miraculous, in terms of the breakthrough and what it offers and means. I couldn’t be more grateful for what it is and what it does.

Just been nagging at me from pretty much the day it was announced that there’s more to it than meets the eye.

Potentially the drugs version of buy-your-own-council house, in terms of motive.

“...he said he’d die in a ditch - another broken promise” was a fantastic line, even his greatest critics have to admit. Was pissing myself at that

The right are frothing at the mouth over it on Twitter. Very funny to watch.

Nope.

I saw who made it and I read a few reviews pointing out that it contained nothing new - just the usual tired old unsubstantiated and already-debunked bullshit - and I decided that there are a lot of better ways to spend an hour.

(If anyone comes up with something new or credible, obviously I'd be interested in that.)

Margie Hodge re-selected. Disappointing.

Yes it is but it's a bit of a weird one in that I believe it was an internal coup from her right / centrist mates as she has gone back on a promise to not stand in any more elections after 2017 , and there is not much of a left-wing faction in the branch.
