-------------Mignolet-------------

Clyne---Skrtel-----Sakho----Moreno

------Henderson----Milner---------

Coutinho------------------Markovic

---------Benteke---Ings-----------

Subs: Sturridge, Ibe, Lovren, Can, Rossiter, Balotelli, Jones

I think that's top four there. Clyne and Moreno buzzing down the wings, with Henderson and Milner putting out fires and getting forward to support. Benteke and Ings capable of holding it up, getting on the end of crosses, or shooting from angles and distance, or finding feet of Coutinho or Markovic, both with goals in them and clever runs into gaps.

As soon as we start playing with two strikers, then Balotelli becomes of value to the team.

Can could play anywhere in the midfield, or an emergency defender.

If you value balance in a team, then Ings, Benteke, Clyne and Milner give us exactly that providing we play 442/4222, 424, or variants thereof.

Have any reliable sources verified our interest in Kovacic? I'd have thought we'd be in for at least another midfielder as well as Milner. I'd fuck off Lucas and Allen and buy another CM, preferably one who either likes to control tempo or one who likes a tackle. Hendo, Can, Milner plus top quality playmaker or destroyer lifts our midfield from mediocre to promising.

Fuck off FSG you useless cunts. How the fuck can Rodgers keep his job after wasting all that cash and overseeing that utter shit season?. You sacked Kenny Dalglish for winning a trophy and getting to a cup final yet you allow this clown to keep his job for delivering less.

Just as long as you can flog 5 times to death and all the day trippers turn up who's fucking arsed eh?. Our main summer target is a free transfer?. Fuck off you utter knobheads. Didn't even bother your fucking arses turning up to a club legends last ever game but still wanted to push the "everything is great at the club" propaganda.

Not turning up for Gerrard's last game was a true disgrace. I guess it would have been a bit awkward what with us being in the middle of a fucking horrific run whilst the manager who is too expensive to bin gurns away on the sideline looking clueless.

Fuck off FSG you fucking ballbags.

That is on a par with Spurs for me. Not good enough.

Except he's not a mid table player, he's an important player for the 2nd placed team in the league, a team thats won multiple titles in the last few years.

Nope

Yaya, Aguero and Silva are important players for Man City. Milner is a squad player for them.

I dunno, swap benteke for a better, more mobile striker, Ings for sturridge or a striker with more pedigree, and anyone of henderson and Milner for a more specialised defensive mid and that team looks good.

so 3 changes... 4 including Clyne whom we haven't signed...

a lot of work to be done...

shit

Whatever Pelligrini said didn't stop him starting Milner on the substitutes bench 21 times last season.

Did you use that statistic, over the fact that only one player played more times than Milner, because you think it's more relevant?

Only Navas played in more games (43 to his 40) and Milner was their 4th top scorer. Regardless of the fact that half of them were starts and half from the bench he's obviously an important player in that squad and you have to really go out of your way to try and disagree with his manager on that.

Don't really know why there's an argument over Milner. Good player. Good pro. Knows what it takes to win things. In a squad that is light on experience, we shouldn't sniff at his pending (?) acquisition. I don't think anyone is saying he's a world class player. I'd liken him to Dirk Kuyt - you might not get many 9/10 performances, but you won't get many fives or sixes either.

Doesn't set the pulse racing, but Milner is a solid signing that makes sense.

He's being billed as the flagship signing.

He's bang average in any specific role but good as a hard-working utility man. We don't need utility men we need specialists who will go in immediately and command a place in the team.

I mean where we will even play him? Fucking wingback? Centre mid? Winger?

I wouldn't worry about the flagship signing thing. I would imagine that's just a bit of toffee, especially since Man City want to keep him and have offered a new deal, and there are other suitors too. So why not make him feel good about coming here?

The flagship deal will surely be the number one striker we sign (in addition to Origi and Ings).

The wailing is at full force now. Anything we do will be decried as failure. Rodgers could get Messi and some would moan Ronaldo was better and we could have got him.

Milner is a very good player. He will probably automatically become our best midfielder thus meaning we have improved our team. If you think Milner is a poor player then you're either deciding this from a very loaded position, or you've just not watched him play for the last bunch of years.
