Williams?

Goal scoring record not great

Not seen much of him though.

Costa would be superb but cant see it

Salah would be worth a shot but i prefer Brandt. Woild be happy with Brandt and Gray as a squad player if the links and price are right

Williams is a bit inconsistent. He'd probably be better in the premier league because it's a league built on pace and power and he's arguably even faster than Mane, but i don't think he offers the other aspects of his game. The off the ball movement. The skill. The intelligence.

The best like for like replacement would be Salah. He basically plays almost identical to Mane. He looks to cut inside and make runs off the last man. Very skilful. Very fast. But doesn't have the strength of Mane.

Douglas Costa's currently in a dispute with Bayern over getting a new contract. The president has come out and slagged him off. There's lots of talk that he's trying to get a move to England. He'll probably end up at City or Chelsea but if there was any chance whatsoever to bring him here we should do whatever it takes to get him.

The only reason not too many are mentioning Salah is his stint at Chelsea did him no favours.

That's not to say that he wouldn't work out here. De Bruyne and Lukaka being good examples of not trusting a players ability based upon their time at Stamford Bridge.

And his pace and goal scoring record is shit hot.

I reckon he could be our Aubameyang if played centrally. His pace is frightening, he's very strong and he's also excellent in one on one situations. He'd be the perfect striker for Klopp's system.

I'd be looking at Douglas Costa or Mohamed Salah to replace what he offers on the right hand side.

I've never thought about him centrally but it's an interesting thought, Aubameyang was and to a degree still is inconsistent with his technique like Mane sometimes can be but both are extremely fast and strong, they are similar as to when Dortmund bought him and played him as a striker. It could easily work to be fair.

Douglas Costa will be at City next year I reckon he was immense under Pep at Bayern and seems to have gone off the boil this season, he'd be a wonderful signing if that happens. With the links to Brandt who plays predominantly on the right maybe Klopp has it in mind to play Mane central in a three, and he could rotate Mane/Coutinho/Firmino and Brandt all season long and not see much of a drop in quality either way.

Would there be? The likes of Drogba, Yaya Toure and Essien weren't exactly held in low regard.

Essien, what a player. Injuries really fucked him badly at one point he was the best centre midfielder in the league, whilst Gerrard was playing as a 10! He was a beast, I think he was slightly underrated in that Chelsea team, whilst Lampard, Terry, Drogba and Cech was taking the plaudits Essien was smashing shit out of everyone, an absolute beast of a player that didn't really have any weaknesses.

This is the worst deal the club has done, Carroll had an outstanding attribute with his ability in the air and Benteke had a 1 in 2 goal record.Mane is a poor striker who can do a job out wide, he's a very poor mans Bellamy and is very inconsistent.

If we are willing to have someone out wide who is shit for large parts of the season we should have let Ibe have a run of games to develop.I was laughing when Manu were linked with him last season and I hoped they would sign him as he is not good enough for a top club, embarrassing deal and we should have stumped up for Teixera.

Yeah, well I've been championing Markovic and I want all the credit when he comes good.

Don't fall into the same trap as me.

It took me a long time to climb down and concede that maybe after all, Charles Nzogbia wouldn't have been a "great" signing for us......

A report from social media saying Mane walking without crutches. If true he cant have snapped any ligaments. Fingers crossed we get him firing again this season

I can't see him making the Bournemouth game, hopefully he'll back for the Stoke game next saturday or the week after v the Baggies.
