Is fucking shit. The internet is a joke. Cuts off all the time, grinds to a standstill when i use BitTorrent, when you ring up to get the TV box working again (always fucks up) or sort the net conection issues out you get some call centre in India or somewhere where they can barely speak English and cut you off time and again. Never ever get it, it's fucking dogshit.

My father-in-law is wondering what this THOMSON thing can be on his network. I don't have Mrs RiS' laptop with vista at home and my XP looks different to this. I am assuming it is some sort of ethernet card or router. He doesn't have a wireless connection, just a normal BT hub. Any ideas?

Ok, so after much advice saying that I should go for the Sony Ericsson X1, I found an ace deal on vodafone, so when I go to get it online, I got rejected because I didn't meet the credit criteria. Whilst being pissed off, it's understandable as I have a shit credit rating at the minute. Anyway, so I applied for it for my sister, who I would then give the money every month for it. She has a good credit rating, and then she gets rejected for it. What the fuck? Seriously, is it just vodafone being bellends? My sister has had two contracts (one for her, and one for me) with o2 for like 5 years now. She has an ace credit rating so there should be no reason why she got …

Right...I wanna put my baby's face onto the head of the Mona Lisa. Actually, putting the head on itself I can do. I have even distorted her face so it looks the same as the original. However... My baby is pink, the Mona Lisa is like a yellow-y orange. Is there an easy way I can change her face colour to match the Mona Lisa's and (also) blend it to look natural? I have looked at a million tutorials, but they just seem to cover swapping heads or faces which is easy enough. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Its basically the opposite of FM: You start off by creating a player (setting up his preferred position, preferred food, nationality, height, weight, age, hometown, favoured clubs etc) and join a team on a YTS contract e.g. Liverpool or, in my case, local football team Cambridge United... you then play the game in "career mode" until you get to about 38 and retire...its like a mix of Sims and Fifa and although the graphics arent amazing it has got to be the most addictive game i have ever played! In the old New Star soccer i started out at Cambridge United and ended my career at Liverpool - finishing my career as both international/liverpool's all time top sco…

My mum and dad have just got one of these and they are raving about it. You can only buy it direct from Bose. Anyone else got one and whats your opinion? It does sound great; really rich sound quality but £800 including the headphones?

Every day I get an email saying my mailbox is over its size limit (Microsoft Outlook). I've cleaned most of the stuff I don't need out, including any big files with video attachments and the like. I now have a perfectly reasonable amount of stuff in there, but still keep getting the message. It doesn't seem to be affecting anything, but I'm wondering why I keep getting this message. What gives?

The demo is now up on the xbox marketplace and i must admit it looks a good game. Love the Resident Evil series of games so though i would give this a go and the zombies move like ones from 28 Days Later as they come running towards you instead of sloping at you. I know this has been done in Condemned but with it having 4 player multiplayer it seems Left 4 Dead might be worth keeping an eye out for.

Xbox 360 Wireless Bridge only £33.97 delivered at amazon - HotUKDeals Forum Make sure you order it from Amazon and not one of the market traders. It's currently out of stock with Amazon, and thus you will get another traders price. Here is the direct link to get it for £33.97: Amazon.co.uk: Used and New: Xbox 360 Wireless Bridge (Required For Wireless Online/Live Play) As mentioned previously they are currently out of stock, so you'll have to wait a couple of weeks for it.

I'm looking to invest in a laptop (price range £500 - £1000) in order to produce and mix my own music on. Anyone else do this? if so any hints on what spec i am looking for? I am looking at a Sony VGN with 4GB RAM and an Intel 2.26 GHZ core 2 dual processor with 320GB hard drive. Anyone know if this would be ideal or know of any laptops that are specifically equipped for this kind of thing??

Bit of help would be appreciated. I don't have any of the next gen consoles, so fancy getting one. PS3 is out of the question as I can't afford it and I've played a friend's Wii and hate it, so that leaves the xbox 360. I can't afford the elite, so that leaves the Arcade or Pro. I'm not arsed about online gaming or anything. Thanks.

Have been looking for some in ear headphones for the past week, and am now thoroughly confused. I'm interested in the earbud kind as I walk to uni and the traffic is pretty loud, also I fly quite a bit so the earbuds would come in useful. The most I'd be willing to spend would be AUD250(about 100 pounds) plus delivery. The main thing I want is a pair of headphones that aren't just fucking bass, I had a pair of in ear headphones which pretty much rendered rock songs useless. So far I've heard that I should definitely stay away from the V-Moda Vibe as they are apparently the Degen of headphones, and that theSennheiser CX300 are pretty good. Does anyone have any opin…

Mrs RiS has a laptop from work and recently it has been working really hard and the fan is going full pelt straight away. When my PC does this i just open it up and dust it, but you can't do that with a laptop. Any idea what could be causing it? What can I do to check it?

I imagine this is pretty obvious but, can I install software (ie Photoshop) onto an external hard-drive and run the programs from there? I'm looking for an option to be able to take my work to my folks and the missus' houses without needing to install software on their machines, so is this a decent solution?

I've got a column of dates with times. I'm trying to convert to month of year as opposed to multiple events per day, time, year etc. I've used the "format cells" function to get it to read just the month and year but the formula bar still reads the date and time. I've tried inserting another column and using copy> paste special> values but it ignores me. How can I get this thing to work before it goes out the window? Edit: For clarity, my data currently reads: 02/01/2006 14:23 but I just want it to read Jan-06 Hope that makes sense.

My 7 year old wants a gaming console for Christmas. I've not owned one since PS1. They have a PS2 at his after-school club which he likes, and he has played on a Nintendo DS too. What would be the best one to get him bearing in mind he is 7 and so not really into the hardcore nerdery that you lot like? I thought about a Wii, but that would mean he'd dominate the TV in the living room as I doubt a Wii would work on his little portable.
