You need to just find ways to take your mind off it, going to the gym or for a swim or something might be a good idea. It 'puts the lid' on a stressful day and when you get home you'll find your mind has relaxed too and you can go and watch telly or something and chill out.

Split all your issues into solvable parts.

Then knock em down one at a time.

Learning to deal with your final year at university will be a lesson for life -- because it doesn't get easier. Work, family, children, finances, legal issues, health -- they all figure in life.

I wish you the best of luck. If millions of 21/22 year olds can get through it successfully, so can you.

Good luck.

I'm stressed out to fuck with Uni. It's starting to have a massive negative effect. Final year, graduating in May.

How do you guys cope with it?

What is it that's stressing you out? And what effect is it having on you?

Imagine the stresses of real life.

Having a mortgage to pay, putting food in your children's mouths, redundancy, etc, etc, real problems that - in all likelyhood - you might have to deal with later on in life.

That should stop the 'stress' of uni for a while at least.

Doesnt really matter what other people have to worry about, if you're stressed you're stressed. My guess is that Antynwa is still just a pup and stress is something you have to learn how to manage. Some of us are better at that than others

Not really and it is the stress of real life anyway, just an earlier chapter. It could be the difference between a great job and a shit one, graduating or not after 3 years work.

It could change the way the rest of his entire life pans out.

antywna you should quite rightly be shitting yourself right now, better do some more studying!

Well said, Champ. Stress is all relative, but that doesn't mean that one person's stress isn't equally as distressing as someone else's. Coming to the end of your final year in uni is bound to be a stressful time - now more than ever with the competition for jobs and lack of opportunities.

A bit of stress is a good thing, it will drive you to work a bit harder and achieve more. It's only if it gets out of hand that it will end up frying your head. It's good that you've recognised that you're getting to that point.

It sounds like you're being a bit hard on yourself and possibly a bit of a perfectionist. Try and put things into perspective. If you don't do as well as you hope over the next few months, what's the worse case scenario - that you'll have to resit? Remind yourself that it's not the end of the world. Don't overdo things. Make sure you take time out to relax and enjoy yourself. Look after yourself - make sure you eat properly, get enough sleep and exercise.

What exactly is it that's stressing you? Is it a particular subject you're struggling with, or money worries, or what? Or a combination of lots of things?

I was just going to echo what Liz said.

I have times in my life that were very stressful, and sometimes there is so much to do, I have times where I am struck by analysis paralysis. You just need a release, mine is footy.

The only I know who don't get stressed are those people who have been to hell and back with problems, and having been through what they have been through, it takes a lot to get them down. I like a little bit of stress in my life.

I failed my dissertation first time around because I sat up wanking all night to Dip It Low by Christina Millian while I was supposed to be finishing it (I spent a total of eight hours on it) but I scored 30% which wasn't bad considering. In hindsight I probably could have done with getting a bit more stressed in the final year of uni.
