Frank Lampard expects no favours from Liverpool in Chelsea's title push

Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has warned his team-mates that they must expect a fully-committed Liverpool when they meet the Reds at Anfield on Sunday.

Should Rafael Benitez's men beat the Londoners then it would hand a massive boost to Manchester United in their bid to win a 19th domestic top flight title and surpass Liverpool's record of 18.

For that reason, some observers have felt that Benitez's team may not be at their sharpest and most committed, but Lampard refutes such suggestions emphatically.

"There is no chance 11 Liverpool players will go out and consider United winning the title on what happens in that game. They will go out to win. They will want to be professional," the England star told reporters.Chelsea may have battered Stoke City 7-0 at the weekend, but Lampard is professional enough to know that the win will count for nothing unless they take the title.

I think he's right.

Does anyone really think Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher are going to allow Lampard and John Terry show them up in their own back yard??

As fucking if.

We'll be well up for this one and I have a sinking feeling that we'll get a result. Can't believe that's how shit we are these days; me actually kind of hoping we don't win as a win is nigh on meaningless anyway.

Sad times.

Professional pride and all that is super but it's just one game. If it's good enough for Mick McCarthy it's good enough for wor Rafa.

I can't believe people are still wanting us to throw the match.

Every single aspect of this game wil be subject to intense Manc/media analysis.

I mean, Lampard could shut his eyes and toebung one from his own area, watch it ricochet off every player on the pitch until it finally rolls into our net,. and Slur would still be shouting "FIX"!

My take is that we keep our dignity, beat the Chavs, and then tell our Manc mates that as they couldnt win it for themselves, we did it for 'em.

Sketchy, yeah, but gives us a little ammo for the fight.

That's all very admirable, and in theory I fully support this attitude.

Now, imagine seeing Gary Neville lift number 19 for them.

Look at this. Seriously, just fucking look at it.

fucking no. We didn't roll over for Kenny in 95 why the hell would we roll over for the billionaire's plaything? fuck off.

15 years later and a different mentality. Plus the Manc twats were not anywhere near our record back then. Not saying we will like, but you just can't compare the two.

Would have been so much different if City hadn't let that last minute goal in.

I can't answer this. Whenever I see Frank's name, I start to well up, thinking about his poor Mum.

*points finger skywards*

She's dead. Frank. Dead. She's passed on. She's no more. She has ceased to be. She's expired and gone to meet her maker. She's a stiff. Bereft of life. She rests in peace. She's pushing up the daisies. Her metabolic processes are now history. She's off the twig. She's kicked the bucket. She's shuffled off thiis mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleeding choir invisibile. SHE IS AN EX-MOTHER!

I think the best scenario is that we actually try our best but our best isn't quite good enough to beat Chelsea.

Utd will get to 19 before we do anyway so whether it happens this year or next doesn't make much difference.

There's no way we should throw the game, the problem is we've played shite so many times this season if we put in another shite performance it could easily be said that we did throw it. The ramifications of this are pretty bad I think.

No it doesn't unless you think match fixing is ok. You just don't look at it anyway.

I want 6 points from the last two games.

There's still Spurs and Villa + City and Spurs to be played.

Our goal difference is the best of all four teams.

Everton are four points behind us.

A draws gonna be a fucking nightmare. A loss I could live with, (as long as we beat Hull), but I want a win.
