You improved the secondary in the summer,Claiborne and Carr should be solid.

I think without that Salary Cap penalty you would have made a run a Carl Nicks, not sure if you could have matched the salary Tampa gave him.

5 years $47.5ml with $25ml guaranteed in the next two seasons.Would have loved to keep him on New Orleans but it was far too much with Evans on big money and Drew's contract not to mention Graham will be getting a new contract this season.

So, will the Saints' D go to shit this season as everyone expects? Burning question.

Can't wait. Just under three hours now. I'm ready for football.

No

The whole league new what was coming under Williams. The secondary wasn't good enough to allow the rest to just blitz. The players seem happier with Spags zone defence and getting pressure from the front 4.

Bunkley has been a great signing,he is a run stuffer that requires double teams and has been freeing up Will Smith to get a few more sacks,Martinez Wilson has been moved from LB to DE.Shame Greg Romeus got injured again, looks a good prospect at DE.

The 3CB's are a year older and now all 24 and should be better.

Look out for Aikeem Hicks DT/DE,he's our 3rnd pick out of a small Canadian college Regina. He was set to go to LSU but there was a issue over a recruiting violation and he ended up in Canada.

22 year old 6'5 320lb,he was expected to be a long term project but has been impressive and that led to some vets being cut.

On the offence look out for Travaris Cadet. Yet another dual threat running back, there was alot of thought that Chris Ivory being cut to make way for him,he might take over the returns from Sproles to keep him healthy. That gives us 5 RB that will get time now.

For to add about the Linebackers.

It's pretty much a whole new unit.

We lost Chris Chamberlain for the season but Hawthorne will be fit soon and Curtis Lofton will be the new MLB.Vilma was never going to be fit suspension or not.

'Free Payton' plane to buzz NYC before NFL opener

Chris Miller Reporting

The Saints fan behind the "Free Payton" banner seen flying above Saints training camp last month has apparently raised enough money to take his message to the home of NFL headquarters.

Philip Marshall is among many Who Dat Nation citizens who think NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell went overboard with his suspensions of Sean Payton, General Manager Mickey Loomis, Joe Vitt and players Jonathan Vilma and Will Smith. With the help of donations he solicited through his website, freepayton.org, he raised enough money to have the banner flown above New York and New Jersey this afternoon.

According to a release, the plane will circle the Statue of Liberty around 4:00 p.m. this afternoon (New Orleans time), proceed over the Hudson River, flying over pre-game activities in Manhattan, and then above the stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey before tonight's kickoff.

Just seen this

I wonder what happened with ESPN.

Anyone think they might close down in the UK with the loss of f**tb*ll.

BBC to show NFL on Monday nights

The BBC is to broadcast the NFL's Monday Night Football for the 2012 season.

Coverage starts on 10 September, with Cincinnati Bengals playing Baltimore Ravens and San Diego Chargers facing Oakland Raiders.

The games will be live on the BBC Red Button and BBC Sport website, while Radio 5 live sports extra will also have at least one commentary per week.

The season finishes with the Super Bowl on 3 February 2013.

There will also be BBC coverage of the Wembley clash between the New England Patriots and St Louis Rams on Sunday, 28 October, as well as weekly play-off highlights in January.

Radio 5 live sports extra's first game will be the match between Super Bowl champions New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys.

Coverage of the Giants v Cowboys game begins at 01:30 BST on Thursday, 6 September.

Barbara Slater, the BBC's director of sport, said: "We look forward to bringing Monday Night Football to our audience, who this summer have shown a great appetite for sport content via our Online and Red Button streams.

"We're delighted that our relationship with the NFL continues to grow and we look forward to a great season."

All the cool kids take to Twitter to discuss the NFL.

Apparently ESPN didn't even bid for the MNF. It's their own fucking show and they didn't bother! ESPN America in Europe is fantastic but it's almost useless in the UK now. I don't want to watch Canadian football. Canadians don't even want to watch it!

I can't believe the Giants didn't pick up a big back.Bradshaw is injury probe and not a short yardage back and neither is Wilson.

Jacobs would have punched through that line.

Should have looked at Bush or Tolbert if they couldn't keep Jacobs.
