I hope this one doesn't have 'draw' written all over it. On the face of it, we should win fairly comfortably. But then we have lots of players coming back from internationals, Nando injured, Wigan flying high, and the Steve Bruce factor. Even with lesser teams he often manages to wangle a draw out of us.

 

We're doing very well thus far, but we really need to keep it going. Anything less than three points adds a bit more pressure to the Chelsea game.

 

Come on you reds. A fully committed performance will see us through just fine.

Think he'll have a point to prove and with rumours of Rafa checking out that Kuba fella he doesn't have many chances left.

 

Rafa has to get the balance right and I wouldn't play Keane upfront on his tod.

He's not that kind of player, him and Kuyt with Nemeth on the bench if he hasn't been loaned out, if he has then that Ngog lad or Eceleston.

For me its more or less the same team we started with against Man United but Gerrard taking the place of Mascherano and Agger replacing Skrtel so that means Kuyt and Keane up front with Yossi on the right.

 

Yossi and Kuyt can swap positions during the game.

The next week is the first really crucial, high-pressure week of the season, in my view. We've got three huge games and three wins would be enormous: top of the league and as good as qualified in Europe. It'd still be early days, but the points and confidence could be vital in retrospect when the season's over. I think we have to go for the strongest team available - and I think Rafa will do so:

Would be tempted to play Dossena, but Valencia is Wigans main threat, and hes constantly running at full backs, so I think Fabio is more assured defensively. Also Aurelio and Riera have linked up well whenever they have played I think, particularly Man Utd.

 

Yossi should get the better of Figueroa, hes a good left back, but very clumsy, especially against someone with a bit of skill and whos a good dribbler. And Riera should give Melchiot a runaround.

 

Palacios and Cattermole in the middle will mean this will be a tough battle (literaly) in the centre of the park. But any other time this season when ive been worried about this, we have won the battle, so Im confident.

 

Ive been thinking this will be another 0-0, but I guess we will see how far we have come as a team, or will Steve Bruce take another point of us or more.
