  1. It was Wongs wasn't it? Pittaras was the one down the other end near Sayers. Many a drink-fuelled meal was devoured from both. Food for the soul.
  2. Day off here too, we've had a good 6-7" and it's still falling. Beautiful, got lots of Sky + to catch up on and the Xbox 360 to keep me amused. After ambushing dog walkers with snow balls in the park though.
  3. Result! GAME swapped the consoles, exchanged my 60Gb for an 80Gb. Shame about all the saved stuff though.....
  4. Get your missus to wear it in bed. Then you can shag Fernando Torres without resorting to homosexuality! No offence to any quegs out there.
  5. Early goal, we don't rest on our laurels and it's 2-0 before half time. West Ham attack early part of 2nd half, we break away and score again round the 60th minute. Couple more goals late on and it's the first convincing home win of the season. In an ideal world, like.
  6. Cheers I phoned GAME and they'll repair it free of charge considering the timing. No doubt they'll probably wipe all the saved data though..... Must try and educate Adam that bad things happen to your consoles when you put shit in it.
  7. I heartily concur but it keeps him happy so whaddayagonnado, if you catch my drift.
  8. My PS3 seems to be fucked. After installing an update (even though it's not connected to the internet?) the screen comes up with a rather disturbing message:- 'Your hard drive is corrupted' I'm no expert but this is obviously bad news? I've never played online with it and this has only happened since my son started playing Smackdown v Raw 2009. Here's the killer though, PS3 purchased Nov 30 2007, and it screwed up yesterday Nov 30, 2008. Ergo - outside the warranty period..... Anyone else have this problem and if so what action should I take?
  9. Passed earlier this year at the venerable age of 29. Was always a cyclist when in Liverpool but moved to London and thought better of it although I did buy a scooter and passed my CBT and had six months of fun riding that round the badlands of Barnet. Baby due in June of this year so had to think rationally - baby seat on an Aprilia 125 or a proper vehicle? I had about 25 lessons, two a week then a whole week's worth before the test. Failed first time by clipping the wing mirror on a width restriction (driver side too - shame) and reversing into a bay like a spanner. Passed with only two minors three weeks later.
  10. In terms of musical scores Ennio Morricone takes some beating. 'The Untouchables' was sensational.
  11. Currently watching Season 1 of The Wire as the wait for Season 7 of The Shield has been unbearable. The Wire is excellent, but without the sheer unadulterated rawness and pace of The Shield. C'mon Channel 5, pull your fucking finger out. I need my Vic-fix.
  12. Reina Arbeloa Agger Carragher Aurelio Yossi Gerrard Alonso Riera Keane Kuyt
  13. Anyone ever recall seeing a scouse redubbed version of Star Trek by these blokes who called themselves bevysworld. I've searched youtube and other corners of the internet for them but to no avail. They also did a version of Portland Bill and Star Wars.
  14. Surely this awesome comeback warrants a DVD?
  15. My aunt who lived in Norfolk had lymphatic cancer when she was in her forties and suffered terribly with the chemotherapy. She was so brave through it all and refused to be treated any differently, even making sure when me and my brothers ever came to visit we all went on days out to the beach or to the Imperial War Museum at Duxford. We were overjoyed when told that she was in remission after 10 years. She arranged a visit to Liverpool a few weeks later. Her and my mum were as close as sisters could be and had a great time together. I went up to Newcastle to visit my bro in university and two days after I got there I got a call saying that my aunt hadn't been well, a doctor was called and she was rushed into hospital. She was diagnosed with meningococcal septicaemia (meningitis). That evening we were told her chances of survival were slim; her arms and legs had already turned black and would have had to have been amputated. I arranged to get the train home the next day. This was before mobiles were commonplace so that 4 hour train journey was horrible. I was met by my dad at Lime Street and the tears on his face told it's own story. She had died that morning. I just erupted into tears myself and the whole family couldn't believe how cruel life had been to her.
  16. Love him. The embodiment of a footballer who plays for the shirt and not the pay. He may have several weaknesses but he more than makes up for those with sheer will to win and determination. Granted, that may not be enough come May when the trophies are handed out but as mentioned above if he can rediscover his first season premiership form and continue his CL form then we will be there or there abouts. Dirk Kuyt doesn't know when he is beaten. A good quality to have.
  17. Maybe I do him a disservice but he's not exactly renowned for his pace is he?
  18. Common etiquette is just prior to telling her to go and make you a cup of tea.
  19. Gotta love the Barratt .50 cal bit where token Russian arms dealer fella loses his arm. COD World at War looks good but is made by Treyarch, who did the not-so-brilliant COD3. Reviews are looking good though; the flamethrower seems to be one of the game's pivotal pieces of kit, with whole swathes of villages and grassland, and accordingly any hiding Japanese soldiers, being flammable. Don't shoot, let them burn!!!!!!
  20. Vasse Felix 'Adams Road' Cabernet Merlot 2005 Margaret River 'This delightful Bordeaux blend offers a concentrated nose of blueberry jam and fresh black currants with spicy edges. Medium bodied, this wine has a generous fruit driven style with vibrant berry fruit characters. Matured in French oak, the wine's soft supple nature makes it approachable to drink from an early age.' 21. A truly remarkable woman and a beacon to those who have long since given up the fight for justice. Keep going Anne.
