The positive spin is hopefully we'll nail the tactical stuff and as players settle and gel and get used to each other and their jobs and we move away from make and do situations like Gakpo in midfield - the performances will improve and we'll really be in business.

Winning whilst frankly still a bit of a mess/a work in progress at best and a bit hamstrung is very handy of course.

A cynic would say we're flying by the seat of our pants, but we'll see. It's a good start to the season results-wise.

I do love how we seem to rile everyone else up

I bet that nomark at Newcastle would never react to that weird little prick Guardiola like that for instance.

Although maybe if opposition players, managers etc got their tongue out of his and his players arses and stopped curling up in ball and hoping not to get kicked too hard maybe they'd do a bit better against them.

Up the piss boiling reds anyway.

Oh there is deffo an argument for that being case. No doubt.

As i say hopefully what i said above is case.

Time will tell.

But as it stands 7 pts from 3, two of which are hard aways is a nice return

Really needs consolidating in next game at home to a side who are no mugs in Aston Villa.

The issue with the tactic now is not really the formation, or the inverting thing - that is obviously something many teams are doing.

The problem is Trent has been abysmal at every aspect of it. His defending and reading of the game defensively has always been suspect but it's not like his passing has been great - it's not even been good. It was crap most of today.

That needs to be great near all the time to justify the current set up.

Where's that bullshit sprouted from?

I'm guessing the mirror? Or the guardian, both astonishingly shit in their coverage.

The Guardian, Louis Taylor. I remember her from the Suarez debacle.

Trent will come good - he has these spells but always bounces back with periods where he does superb stuff.

We just need to make these spells less of a thing, shorter and less harmful when do happen and work on eradicating them as much as possible.

In the middle of one of them we have still come away with 7 pts from 3 games - 2 of them difficult aways. So even if it is a touch by seat of our pants stuff - it is still 7 pts and no damage done.

Scott and Cardie have gone awful quiet.

We haven’t been playing “the system” since Trent got booked about 6 mins in.  What game are you watching?  He’s been playing right back in and out of possession since that moment and hasn’t stood in midfield once.  The problem is he’s a fucking shocking right back with a horrific attitude.

Fuck the refs and fuck these saudi cunts. They have ruined football collectively.

But this is a disgrace of a performance regardless. Endo is out of his depth, we might as well have bought jay spearing. The system is fucked. We seemed to have lost all concept of keeping possession. And we have our manager telling us he doesn't need any defenders after we've been ripped apart again and again for months. Just a joke.

Twats that don't know shit.

Only way can see us nicking something here is to try and stay in it and throw Nunez on, play with solid banks behind him and try and get him in behind.

Insightful man.

Laughing at bellends saying that Trent was lucky not to get sent off, because he was close to Gordon when the shitrat dived.

You really have to question how low the bar for "dissent" is if Trent can get a yellow for lobbing a ball, without excessive force, towards where it was supposed to be.

Townsend gutted in the studio.

Elliot was quality as well.

To Townsend's credit, he said that although Nunez would get the headlines, with Elliott's introduction, the movement in midfield was given a change of pace.

It's a long time since I've seen us come up with the performance and results to show for it having been faced with a mountain to climb, and twice in succession. Hope it's a kick-start for another great batch of Fucking Mentality Monsters.

And fuck off Eddie Howe.

I think the start of the season has been pretty interesting.

Klopp himself admitted we were unable to impose ourselves against Chelsea and that we couldn't get on the ball. We then get blitzed by Bournemouth before recovering and then propose nothing against Newcastle until we somehow pull it out.

7 points in 3, against two big teams away, with long periods of a man disadvantage, and yet I think we have shown very, very little tactically.

All credit to the players, is all I can say really.

They have shown immense character as well.

That should also be applauded.
