There are currently two versions of the Oculus (Meta) Quest; the Quest 2 and the Quest Pro. Both are available now.

Interestingly on some titles on the Meta Quests store, there is a list of compatible headsets for games...Quest Pro, Quest 2 and Quest 3. This has prompted speculation that the Quest 3 is due for release soon.

The Quest 2 128Gb is currently £399. The Quest 2 256Gb is currently around £434.99. The Quest Pro is currently £999.

Thank you very much.

In English what does that mean? He’s not having a fucking grand! But he keeps going on about a new release September/October. If that’s gonna be more than a grand he can fuck off and have one now. But he seems to think it’ll be an upgrade on the current model.

Apologies for being completely fucking clueless. And broke.

He won’t need quest pro, that’s just for VR Professionals. No official launch date for quest 3 but it will be priced somewhere between quest 2 and quest pro. Perhaps £500-£600.

Quest 2 with larger storage is perfect for a young kid. Anything else is overkill.

Sorry mate, just another question.

Would version 3 and version 2 be compatible to play online?

Yes to both. Alot of the games on the Quest store already have Q3 compatible. The price of the Q2 has already been announced as a price drop too. Hopefully they will be sending review units outbtobthe big channels soon though so there is info on image quality upgrades and controllers.

Can anyone recommend some games for him to download please?

What type of games do you like?

Shooters:  there is Contractors and Pavlov or something slower and more tactical is Breachers.

Survuval: Ghosts of Tabor

Demeo was fun if you like that sort of thing andrRed Matter 2 everyone seems to love.

I know loads who liked Walking Dead Saints and Sinners but meh

Melee combat: Helllsplit arena Blade and Soucery.

RE4 was just poor implamentation and never made it too far because it was quite jaring at times.

Gorilla Tag is one that is really popular with kids around pre / early teens.

Yeah mine batter this every day and to be fair they end up a sweaty mess, it's a decent workout. Just be prepared for smashed fingers off table corners and also non-stop talking.

Amazing how much we've spent on games and in the end they ignore it all and play the free one.
