Well, www.siteprice.org estimates the annual ad revenue of LFC at $3,200 which, if approximately accurate, should probably be enough to cover the cost of an internet forum, or wouldn't it? Assuming that all forum content is created by users, in that case, it should or could be free.

I pay for Dave's reviews, diary and roundups because I am hooked and I have to, I don't think I would be contributing if it was optional, I don't know, mainly because after all those years I am still not used to paying for stuff on the Internet. Ok, if it was optional, but I knew the site may go out of business,  I probably would contribute.

MF is generally not worth it, other then the access to the bitching thread, which is again, user created content.  Some content made available there from other sources is a bonus, but I could live without it if I had to.  I would maybe like to see something like free access to the electronically archived fanzines for paying members.

I don't know, every outlet is telling you, it's just 2 pounds or 3 pounds or 5 pounds, but it ads up quickly. So, if you don't care about the articles and this is just one of your LFC forums, I understand, from the users' point of view, why many people are not paying the subs. If you spend hours on the forum every day though, maybe you shoud occasionally contribute in some optional way, without a full membership. If you make the site membershp only I dont think it would attract any new people, because there is not enough content for that.

It's Dave's job and his income. I dont know how wealthy, comfy or destitute Dave is, that isnt the point. He proves a service here for people to agree, disagree or whatever.

I think it's a bit of freeloading if you're a regular user and dont subscribe. Time, bandwidth, mics and recording equipment dont come cheap.

The content Dave puts out is Brilliant in my opinion , Match reports , Weekly round ups both of them are well worth the price of a membership alone .

The chance to take the piss out of the bitters and who ever the Mancs currently have as a manager is just a bonus , I found this site by accident one night and can't see me leaving it any time soon .

I been a regular for years and mostly during that time signed up. I did have spells about 10 years ago when both kids were in nursery and the wife was only part time working so had to cut my cloth accordingly and watch my spending as my disposable income was basically ziltch so sacrifices had to be made.

Gladly those days are long gone and I'm only too happy to pay as this is my go to place and I enjoy the extra content but I also understand people who have their reasons for not paying, yes it's only a few quid a month but without knowing everyone's situations I'd just leave it to that person rather than cast judgement.

I dont really pay for the forum, I pay for Daves match reports and other articles. I think he does the best match reports around. The forum I do use a lot as I procrastinate. If it was just a forum I don't know if I'd pay for it as I doubt I'd of kept visiting the site at the start without the match reports but now I've used the forum for so long I may still continue paying even if the reports stopped. Who knows.

Totally agree, I’ve been a big fan of Davies’s writing for years. I read a lot in general and a lot about Liverpool. He’s the best writer about Liverpool. I used to love the diary in the Fanzine, and now it’s even better it’s every week ! The match report, top ! And it’s almost free.

Nobody read the blog when it was free, apart from my regulars from here.

Apart from two posts.

My one about Anxiety and Depression which had more than 200k views.

The Erotic Fiction which maybe had 25k.

I concluded from this that there may be a market for misery porn but never explored it fully.

Sex Under A Black Cloud or Anxiety Anal would have been sure fire winners.

Some days you just can't get out of bed.
