Wasn't he director of the fledgling BBC2 when he was about 16 or something?

Quite the Polymath.

Edit: OK, he was the controller in 1965, when he was 39.

I didn't realise he was in the Navy before working in broadcasting. Imagine what it must be like to come out of the Navy and then get a dinosaur named after you?

Why am I the only one to neg shooter in the face?

How can you not like Sir David Attenborough? I watched an interview with Jonathan Ross from a few years ago, he looked really young. He was 82. He is almost an advert to me for how love for what you do is almost a guarantee for a for a happy life.

The above video must have been when he was a lot more hands on, surprisingly I haven't seen much of that.

This is the stuff he is more famous for now, so I think I'm going to have to go back and find his older stuff...

I love Attenborough, man’s an institution, but you can’t put a thread up like this when people are dropping like flies and not put a (not dead) in the thread title. You’ll give a man a heart attack.

That Shoebill is one ugly cunt. a giant prehistoric bird, reminds me of what's on offer when full of whizz in injury time at a night club, but needs must and respect her in the morning before leaving,
