What's the story behind your username and avatar?

Recommended Posts

Username: When I signed up here my best mate had recently used the expression Remmie no stars to indicate a thick person who was unable to achieve a McDonald's star. I was suitably tickled by it.

Think my previous username had been Fixer of shut up juice which is probably better. Oh well.

My avatar relates to my real name but has a reader's wives style identity hiding rectangle, so only super sleuths can work it out.

Username: a portmanteau of the beginning of my first and last names, and a damned sight better than my original username 'kopaloadofthis'.

Avatar: a proud and noble beast that never fails to put smiles on faces, no matter the look. Changes every summer - last year it was Batman.

Username: a nickname, which is just a portmanteau of my name that stuck from an ad-lib at school.

Avatar:  La Dispute logo, good band, good logo.  Got bored of Manny from Grim Fandango and settled on it.  Pretty arbitrary, great story.

Anyway, mine originally came from the Pixies song Crackity Jones, plus the Jose is a Spainification of my real name.  And the round ball team we support had a bit of a Spain thing going on when I signed up. Multitudes

I used to have a Frank Black avatar to go along with it.

But now I have Jose Jones, underwater legend.

Username: I stupidly fell in love with a judas player who played for us at the time I signed up.

Avatar: will soon revert back to the Palestinian flag. As I'm a lover of freedom and justice. And a defender of victims of apartheid, land theft, war crimes and mass murder motivated by right wing nationalism and racism.

Username - My favourite example of a crushed testicle.

Avatar - I not only like the music of Django Reinhardt, but also find him an inspiring figure; he managed to be the greatest jazz guitarist despite having gimped fingers. He also had a great 'tache.

Bobby Robson at a book signing was asked how many books he had signed he replied "hundreds son.. hundreds". When the person  whose book he had signed checked the inscription he'd wrote all the best from Bobby hundreds.

My avatar because I'm a miserable cunt.

That is magnificent.

Many moons ago, before we had the internet to allow us to scream our ill-considered views into the oblivious void, I was wont to write to local newspapers. "Angry of (wherever)" is a classic handle for anonymous local moaners. I currently live in Tuebrook.

A few years ago some people round these parts were on an otter kick.  (And indeed, why not?) I found a picture of an otter looking suitably angry and adopted it.

Username: I was a full-back as a kid (Right not left) and used to think Bjornebye was a very underrated player for us. I still do to this day. One of the best left pegs we have ever had at the club. That cross for Fowler in the 2nd 4:3 game was a thing of beauty.

Avatar: Change them too often. This is a childish reactionary one. A bit like when SD had this as his:
