Just watched the last 6 or 7 minutes of the first half, nothing happened him. There was a tangle in the box when we had a corner where he went down but he looked to get up perfectly fine.

This is one of the strange things, he usually finish the games/halfs, only to never be seen again for weeks.

I don't get it. He went off at half time and he was fine. Does he get abducted by aliens that perform bad experiments on him during the half time breaks and at the final whistles?

He's an unbelievable player considering he never has a chance to play himself into form and fitness...

Just as well, really.

When Gomez goes missing, you know you're going to get half a dozen scary games before the real Joe Gomez reappears.  If you can never string that many games together, you'd be neither use nor ornament.

That means he would’ve had to play on with some pain/discomfort for quite some time right? Couldn’t we ask him to just extend it until Virge returns?

Did he just go in at half time and his body went SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER

How did he even make it professionally. How did he get enough time to practice to be good  i reckon as a toddler his dad said kick the ball which he did but then clutched his hamstring and gave it the substitute hand gesture. If mechanics took all those broken parts they replace in cars and made a car it would be called a Matip.

Such a shame because he is world class. Phenomenal defender.

He walks into the gretest sicknote 11 as captain.

Has there ever been a better player in the sicknote category? Most players drop fastly in performance level when they enter the sicknote or permacrock category.

For us I’d say Aurelio was similar to Matip. Every time he played it was obvious he was a good player, and you knew he’d get injured again probably before the next game.

Others imo like Sturridge, Lallana, Ox and even Agger clearly dropped to lower levels due to all the injuries. I’m a massive fan of Hansen as a player, but even if he was good at the end of his time here he was never the same player after all the injuries.

It's such a bastard as he was outstanding in the first half as well last night. Really need him.

He seemed fine. No one was really surprised Kane didn’t come back out but no Matip, it was like “what the actual...”

Just watching the match that I recorded on LFCTV again and right on the 46th minute he seemed to hurt his ankle in a collision with a spurs player. Wonder can @Caramac get a gif of it?

Terrific player but stealing a living at this point. Whatever his return date is, is now precisely the date of his next injury. If as a professional athlete your body can't cope with the stresses placed on it then you're next to useless.

Giving some of the most well known perma-crocks a run now, Darren Anderton etc.
