Didn't Ipswich have a player called Dozzell in the early 90s? Or was it Spurs? Or both? I've a vague recollection of having the Pro Set card. This U17 kid might be his son.

Jason, team-mate of Chris Kiwomya and John Wark.

It is his son, paper said so the other day.

If I'm not mistaken he went to Spurs for in excess of a couple of million quid, which was a massive fee in those days. Sort of signing they used to specialise in.

Yes, £1.9 million it was.  In his first season, he made 32 appearances and scored eight goals.  He suffered numerous injuries during his time at White Hart Lane, restricting the number of games in which he played.  In the 1994–95 season, he managed just seven appearances and failed to score. He made a total of 99 league and cup appearances and scored 14 goals over his four seasons at the club.

That's my recollection of his time there, could be a few details wrong.

What an encyclopedic memory mate, kudos.

1994/95. That's when they had Klinsmann, Sheringham, Barmby, Anderton and Dumitrescu as a front 5, plus Popescu and a bunch of slapdicks in defence who made Rodgers' defences look like masters of catenaccio.

No, most of the time he plays on the right side of a midfield diamond.

Can has become a good holding mid and we are probably keeping Lucas as well so we are fine there, imo.

Can is more of a rampaging mid. Rampaging and holding don't go together. Hes been excellent this year mind. Probably my favourite player after lil phil

i think it would only be right to be linked to him all summer, he talks of being a liverpool fan and then we fail to get him. we haven't had a summer of turan rumours for a year or two and i miss them.

Arda Turan is a silly name. Now Simao Sabrosa, that's a name you can set your watch to.
