Personally I'd do this....buy Reus with the Sterling bread and sell either Lallana or Markovic (whichever can get most for) as there is no way they both have a place with Reus, Coutinho and Firmino around, could easily argue to jib both.

 

Let's say that is 15m for one of them, we scrape up 20 for Balotelli, Borini and Lambert to add to it and there is the striker money.

Haven't checked but that would surprise me, I thought Benteke was relatively prolific and didn't realise Reus playing where he does was that prolific.

Like many on here, the concern isn't so much that we're selling yet another player for big money, but that we will probably waste a fortune on the wrong players and/or the wrong positions. We certainly have recent history for such folly.

 

Also, almost immediately after one of these big-money sales, we've signed somebody who hadn't even previously been named in all the myriad transfer links with the club. In most cases, we've got it badly wrong.

 

After selling Alonso, we suddenly went after Aquilani. When Mascherano left, we signed Meireles. Carroll joined after we sold Torres. Balotelli was purchased (despite earlier rumours being publicly denied) once Suarez completed his move to Barcelona. It makes me wonder if we will bring in somebody who wasn't previously linked once the Sterling deal is done.
