We usually have one for each season, @Allan kept it going. The scheduling has gone to shit now. They’re only doing six episodes per series for Comedy Central and they’ve been given big money by Paramount for doing specials a few times a year. The last special was a live concert in Colorado doing all the South Park songs from down the years. It was a boss show. Any fans of the show should definitely seek it out. Anyway, there’s a new special out at the end of the month. https://variety.com/2023/tv/news/south-park-exclusive-event-joining-the-panderverse-paramount-plus-streaming-1235752140/amp/

Which of these fucks is worst? Valachi was the first made guy to squeal, admitting to the existence of this thing to the Senate. On the other hand Gravano, as Underboss, was the highest ranking member to flip.

We were talking about this today in the car so I thought it may constitute a short lived thread. I’m not thinking of famous people just your average Jo public who happens to have a singular talent. There’s an old bloke on my old allotments, straight from central casting as an eccentric, bushy beard, long hair and his plot is an overgrown jungle of fruit trees. However he’s a national cryptic crossword champion, probably the best solver in the Uk. If ridiculously hard cryptic crosswords were an Olympic sport he’d be Mark Phelps, he’s that good.

As a sister to the words I can’t pronounce thread, another chance to own up in a public forum to your inability to use the English language. This is for words that you thought meant something different to their accepted meaning. I will open the batting with “Morerish” I genuinely thought people were talking about Spanish architecture (Moorish) so when they said “sherbet lemons are very moreish” I had no fucking idea why. Mrs Willard regularly reminds me of this as evidence of my stupidity.

Anyone been? I'm guessing the answer's probably "yes", but I haven't. I'm looking at a possible trip in the summer, weekend in Stockholm at least (got a gig in mind for the Saturday), and had a potentially dumb question. Is travelling between Oslo and Stockholm by train a really stupid idea? I kind of want to see both cities/countries if possible, even if just for a few days and don't really fancy an extra flight. I think a couple of hours into Karlstad, then a break, before getting the train on to Stockholm looks like an okay, if heavy, day's travel... Also, any recommendations in general? I like getting out to explore a few places, …

Norway’s seed vault that could save us from catastrophe In the event of a global catastrophe, humans and animals run the risk of vital crops being wiped out for good. Luckily, there is an insurance policy in place - in the shape of a seed vault which opened in Norway in 2008. If the world ever needed to begin its harvests from scratch, the seeds stored here could be used. They are kept in special packets, sealed in such a way to protect them from moisture. That’s one level of protection - the other comes from the location itself. This vault in Norway protects the Earth’s seed species in case of global catastrophe. The vault is on a remote island called…

Is anybody very knowledgeable about Goa? I am probably going in January for three weeks. I basically just want a beach holiday somewhere chilled out, anyone got any advice about places to visit things to do not to do? And also, might get some dental work done there.

This energy price rise is crazy - its going to hit everyone really hard. We've also had serious water quality problems in my area. I'm thinking about getting into becoming more self-reliant with regards to food, water and energy. I'm not running off the grid and going crazy or anything but I'm trusting the centralised systems less and less and few could deny they are getting worse. Anyone have experience with anything like that? I was thinking of planting some fruit trees first - baby steps and all that.
