Anyone been?

 

I'm guessing the answer's probably "yes", but I haven't. I'm looking at a possible trip in the summer, weekend in Stockholm at least (got a gig in mind for the Saturday), and had a potentially dumb question.

 

Is travelling between Oslo and Stockholm by train a really stupid idea? I kind of want to see both cities/countries if possible, even if just for a few days and don't really fancy an extra flight. I think a couple of hours into Karlstad, then a break, before getting the train on to Stockholm looks like an okay, if heavy, day's travel... 

 

Also, any recommendations in general?  I like getting out to explore a few places, so had an eye on Uppsala. Bygdøy was also on the cards from Oslo, but some of that is apparently shut down for the next few years. Anything within 30-45 minutes ride.
