Don't think Spearing is deserving of too much criticism. He's doing his job pretty well I think. Henderson on the other hand.... Kuyt hasn't set the world alight, neither has Maxi, but my biggest concern with those two is that they both missed great chances. They are not capable (or put out there) to dribble past the fullbacks and cross the ball, but to get into the box and put the ball in the net. They've done the first part well, the latter - not so much...

 

Think Carroll has continued with his improvement, and Suarez has been great first half.

 

Shelvey in for Henderson please. I think that will give us enough creativity to open them up 2nd half. That being said neither Kuyt nor Maxi can have too many complaints if they're hauled off inside 60 mins.

 

Oh, and the spastics writing off Pepe, we could easily have been 2-0 down without him. Great reflex saves from him there.

The worry is bar Enrique we are in exactly the same place we were last summer. Needing a top striker and goalscoring wideman.

 

We've played well today though and I'm sure we'll get a goal before FT, the only worry is whether we'll concede another stupid goal like we've done previously at home.
