  1. Remarkable indeed. Never seen a player kicked to bits like that and yet still have both legs attached at the end of the game. And the donkeys he was playing with - that Valdano "effort" over the bar with an empty net in front of him! Brings a smile to the face watching that- and that's surely what football should be about.
  2. Laughing my head off here! Everton might as well not turn up for games at Anfield, have a day off, go shopping with the missus or whatever!
  3. That was like the 70's and 80's again where we used to keep the ball for fun and just canter through games. Difference being in those days the keeper could pick the ball up. Totally dominant performance.
  4. Lets see where we are at the end of the season. I get that it takes away the spontaneity and the joy when a team scores. The problem is with bent / crap officials, not the concept. There's not much VAR can do if Atkinson decides to draw an offside line on the floor and join it up at a random angle rather than at 90 degrees to show Firmino "offside". Don't forget he fucked us over last week without VAR. Also- all those decisions yesterday- we didn't get them from the pitch officials. Without VAR we still wouldn't have got them. Lets see at the end of the season how many decisions we wouldn't have got without VAR but got without VAR and vice versa. Also, for 9 weeks the VAR official refuses to overturn the most blatant of mistakes. Last week they completely flip the other way, this week its back to normal. That's not VAR, that's just crap from Mike Riley and the refs association. And lets not forget the glorious VAR wiping the smirk from baldy peanut head's face against Spurs- not once but twice!
  5. Unbelievable Jeff!!!! Mentality monsters indeed. Can't expect 94th minute winners all the time, would be nice to have a comfortable win occasionally, but wow, what a ride!
  6. Mane had his foot stood on. Went down, got a yellow card. Salah in a bear hug until ball gone- doesn't go down, no foul. No idea what a player is supposed to do when he is fouled any more. (Mane one looked theatrical so I can see why the card, but if the ref is a blind bent cunt what is the player supposed to do?)
  7. But its not 50:50 when every 50:50 challenge is always given one way! The whole point of calling it 50:50 is you expect on average both teams will get about 50% of the decisions over the course of the game. Look at it again (if you can be bothered to watch that crock of shite again) and see how many 50:50 challenges were given our way. We got some blatant fouls given for us and a lot more clear fouls not given. They got pretty much every challenge given their way.
  8. Regardless of the result that was a diabolical performance by Atkinson. Every 50:50 one way only. Doesn't know what a foul is. Books Fabinho for a cynical foul but lets Rojo and Young get away with exactly the same thing. Stops play for 5 minutes while James gets treatment for a non- head injury. Lets Utd players being subbed walk all the way across the pitch when they're supposed to go off at the nearest boundary. Howard Webb at his finest would struggle to top today's performance.
  9. I think it will be interesting. VAR is not perfect, and is subject to interpretation, but at least the VAR officials get more time and different angles so are more likely to to get the decision right. It cant be perfect because the rules themselves are confusing and open to interpretation- who understands what is handball and what is offside anymore? Even the refs cant agree when looking at replays. As we tend to have the ball in the opposition area more often than the other way round I suspect VAR will overall favour us but lets see.
  10. “That made a huge impression on me. Success wasn’t a one-off, it was built in as a habit and that philosophy increased your desire. The next season, we lost the championship to Arsenal on the last day of the season with the last kick of the game. Afterwards, he came in and put the medals on the table and it was the same message - pre-season in a month. “The thinking was you’d get comfortable if you got too carried away with winning, and that if you got too disappointed with losing, you wouldn’t be able to lift yourself and push again. Winning was one thing at Liverpool, but the work that went in from Monday to Friday to ensure that we got a reward on the weekend was the most crucial element." I think this is the mentality Klopp is trying to ingrain. Work hard, see what happens at the end of the season, go again. As fans, its difficult for us as we are desperate to win the league and it seems that if we don't win it this year there won't be another chance. Hopefully the players listen to him rather than getting too stressed about it like us fans.
  11. Forget what teams do on the pitch against City, the team selection before the match has even started more often than not shows the "smaller teams" have given up on getting anything from the game and are saving their better players for games they think they have more chance of getting something from. To a certain extent that's also down to us- we need to create an aura that makes teams think they should save their energy and not bother trying to get anything against us. Will take time.
  12. Mane King of the wayward finishers tonight. Honorable mention for Gini.
  13. Unbelievable (bad) finishing. Squeaky bum time +++. Allison saved our bacon again. VVD brilliant. Henderson had a really good second half. Front 3 still not clicking with the passes. WHO CARES!!! We're through!!!
  14. This lot are like a Mourinho team with the amount of diving and playacting they do.
  15. Can't say it wasn't coming. Bar a couple of games we've been pedestrian all season, surviving mainly down to the tight defence. Eventually lady luck is going to look the other way. Biggest problem all season (apart from all three forwards misfiring at the same time ) has been the lack of creativity and guile from midfield. In 95 minutes today I didn't see one player take on and beat an opponent, the passing was over or under hit, and they looked scared to play a forward pass- it was all pass pass pass sideways, lose it, rinse and repeat. I'm not even sure a single creative player will change that- its partly lack of movement from those in front and around them, and partly I don't know what the pattern of play is supposed to be. Quick long ball to a marauding full back? Not happening so much this season, and when it does the full back more often than not doesn't put a quick ball in. Poor Lallana bless him at least tried to make some runs but it looked like he was running in treacle. No urgency the whole game- if you didn't know the score you would think we were winning, not losing 2-0. The league position is very good, the results have been very good, but the football hasn't been as enjoyable this season. Hope we come out of this rut soon.
  16. Rashford x 2, Matic doing their bit to get him sacked. Shame.
  17. http://buffstreamz.com/watch/soccer-stream.php We are playing crap. Barkley and Fabregas floating around unmarked, massive drop in quality between first team and the players out there, and of course lets not forget our friend the ref.
  18. Great 3 points although nearly threw 2 away at the end. Milner has been outstanding. Decision making / greediness in 2 of the front 3 let us down a bit, but the approach interplay and passing was better, maybe because Spurs were trying to attack so we had more space when we did get the turnover. Heading in the right direction I think, and they are too good not to hit top gear at some stage.
  19. In that case how the hell can that be a pen? Deliberate movement in that fraction of a second? No way. Also, isnt VAR supposed to overturn CLEAR errors? Why on earth are the VAR refs referring that to the ref?
  20. I wish someone would ask the head of FIFA / Referees association whether "deliberate" is still part of the assessment for a penalty. No way in the world can it be deliberate if the ball comes off someone's head half a metre away and hits your hand.
  21. Where the fuck was VAR when the croats were getting pulled down in the French area? Rigged.
  22. FFS. Never in a million years. Deliberate????
