Lucas - Would have been 8 nil without him.

Henderson - Did a lot of running and closing down when we went down to 10 / 9 men.

I know they put four past Pepe, but he kept his head up and they could have scored more.

1. Enrique (Spurs were very conscious about him, and doubled up on him all the time. Thought he did well considering the circumstances. Also thought he did a good job following Carra's handraising-routine when closing down Defoe. He basically only gave Defoe the option of shooting one place, and Pepe's positioning for that goal was really poor.

2. Lucas (was anonymous 1st half. It's like having Adam and Henderson especially so close hinders him from doing what he does best. Looked a lot better when Adam went off, and broke up a lot of Spurs counter-attacks.

3. Getting hard now, but I'll throw out a mention to Spearing too. Looked a lot livelier than the other midfielders, and even if he didn't do much of notice, at least looked like he was up for the tempo of the game. Showing he cared a bit doesn't make it worse either I suppose...

 

Shows how poor we were when some are actually picking Carragher among the three....

Actually, want to put in a last minute shout for Sebastian Coates. Not the most glorious of debuts, but I watched highlights of the game again (I know, glutton for punishment) and I think he played with a lot of confidence and looks like he has a solid defensive head on his shoulders for a young man in a new and unfamiliar setting. Baptism.
