Sorry total longo maybe I should of hidden it but why would you go on a thread about a film if you don’t want to know what happens in it?

The problem the the critics by and large it seems they are judging it not as a moment of escapism but as a professional task. Production values, set pieces, lighting, method where as most of the people watching these ‘classic’ franchises want to be transported to a ‘universe’ they know and love. Going through the daily grind has to be made easier if you know somehow your heroes somehow win through don’t you think? Also if the demographic aimed at was white guys and for 40 years those same white guys have invested time and money in collecting various incarnations of those films surely you have to expect problems when you kill off their heroes and replace them with poorly written and acted wider demographic appeasing characters and sole remaining character happens to be a matriarch who is played by someone who actually did die. Crazy choices.

It appears the media are focusing on the obsessive fanboys rather than the discrepancies in plot, character history and motivations. Besides how could the critics be wrong it’s not like they got it wrong in 1977 or anything.

Saw this opening night, MUCH better than TFA, thought it needed the Star Wars fan fare tbh. The much talked about cgi as poor but good attempt. The end I don't like... Doesn't fit with Vader dialogue from a new hope... Darth Vader: [addressing the Tantive IV's captain, whom he is interrogating] Where are those transmissions you intercepted? WHAT have you DONE with those plans? [holding Captain Antilles off the floor, the Captain's feet are dangling at Vader's knees] Captain Antilles: We intercepted no transmissions... [gasps] Captain Antilles: ... This is a consular ship... We're on a - [chokes] Captain Antilles: diplomatic mission... Darth Vader: [shouting] If this is a consular ship, WHERE is the ambassador? [Antilles dies before he can answer, and Vader throws the man's body against the wall, narrowly missing 2 stormtroopers] Darth Vader: Commander, tear this ship apart until you find those plans! And bring me all passengers, I want them ALIVE! Shouldn't the tantive iv been on that mission to enlist the help of an old Jedi? Good overall though.

Hobbit- the battle of the five armies. Poor. Really disappointed. Cgi was weak story weaker. These films should of been called A fucking long walk, Are we there yet, Shit, got to walk back now.

Is it possible that 'the committee' signed ballotelli as back up for Sturridge and Rogers is playing the backup as directed? Just a thought.
