This is as serious as it is funny.

Usmanov’s spokesperson said: “In his personal interactions with Mr Ancelotti, Mr Usmanov, as the largest shareholder of the club’s main sponsor, discussed the hypothetical possibility of creating an additional bonus fund for the club in the event that the latter achieved a significant success – namely, entering the League of Champions [sic] – an event which, as we know, did not ultimately take place. There were no legally meaningful arrangements made in this regard, while the club’s results were far from even being considered a success.”

That all sounds totally above board

These discussions reportedly took place in 2019, before Usmanov was sanctioned so what’s the issue?
The fact he was taking part in interviews last winter after the club said it had cut off all ties is much more serious isn’t it?
The Ancelotti thing looks set to run and run though which has plenty of legs in it, from an entertainment aspect.

The issue is they have always claimed he's got nothing to do with Everton other than sponsoring them. Moshiri bought them in 2016, more than 2.5 years before Usmanov sold his shares in Arsenal. The evidence is starting to stack up that he is and was the owner.

Tell that bit to the blues at the time, they were likening Carlo's stint to being back to the halcyon days of the 80s.

It's gone under the radar but if I read this right and the below is true -- their Kopite auditor resigned last year and grassed Moshiri up to the OFSI which is why he was made a person of interest. If the people you are paying large sums of money grass you up it doesn't look good.

It also follows a Guardian report that revealed how the club’s auditor, BDO, stepped away from signing off the club’s accounts last year – a decision sources said was related to the ownership of the Premier League team.

The Guardian understands that BDO’s concerns led to OFSI being notified about Moshiri, who has hired an expert sanctions lawyer at Peters & Peters – one of the UK’s largest law firms – according to correspondence sent to the Guardian on Moshiri’s behalf.
