Read a Guardian article saying that the average household in Liverpool will be £407 worse off a month compared to most Tory stronghold areas in the south East who will be about £50 worse off. This is due to a combination of government cuts and benefits being capped.

 

The local council has to find another £90m in savings.

Id have no issue with the council doing tbem a favour borrowing on their behalf as it will help tbe city. But all borrowing the council do should be offset but guarantees he gives the council. It'll be the same in tbe summer. Seriously, no matter how rundown a place might be no one has ever thought "what this place needs is a football ground". And that's before we even consider building one for a fan base that is publicly hostile to the notion of tourists descending on the city. I am sure there will be objections from city centre shops saying they don't want thousands of football fans decending on there shops during match days especially when these shops want people from outside the city to shop there.

 

I am pretty sure a lot of people would be put off shopping at Liverpool 1 with thousands of football fans in the area and will instead head the Trafford centre.
