667 pages of speculation and rumour control...only now on the 1st September can you really assess how the summer transfer window has gone, and I can't be arsed to wade through the previous 666 pages. I'm just over the moon with the business that's been done at the end of it all. I can't remember a summer like it. 7 out. 7 better ones in (although I think Chelsea have done well to get Miereles - that could finally get Torres working for them). Not at all. A player only has a medical at the club's behest to see if there are any lingering major injury concerns. A broken collarbone (or whatever his injury is) is clearly a short term thing.

 

You can sign a player without a medical, all you are doing is covering your own backs by insisting on one.

I thought when he picked up the injury there was something fishy about it, he looked to me like he clearly didn't want to play. When the physio got to him he was already walking off, the physio had to haul him back a couple of times to talk to him.

He obviously must not have been happy here, and I get the feeling our dressing room is going to be buzzing this season, so he can take his poison elsewhere the miserable shite. If he thinks there won't be competition for places at Chelsea he is delusional.

Im not bothered about meireles leaving, I think 12m is good buissness and it makes the henderson signing look better as we signed a player for 4m more who is going to be playing for another 10 years plus.

 

I think fans are being a bit harsh on meireles, he was clearly available all summer however the club did not want to sell him to chelsea because of fan reaction so made him put in transfer request so it looked like we had to sell.

 

Its nothing at all like the torres situation and I have no bad feelings towards raul I just wish a club from abroad had come in for him rather then chelsea.

 

Bellamy is also a good signing imo, when he was here last time I cant remember him hardly playing out wide at all which is where he has played best since he left, he can cover for the strikers but Id like to see him out wide more often.

Well I'm happy with our summer transfers. We've signed wisely. We're third in the table with 7 pts from a possible 9 after 3 games. The lads look happy and we've vastly improved the depth in our squad. Gerrard is set to return this month. Agger is captain of Denmark. Kenny is King. It feels good.
