1. No money

2. We're stocked in the attacking midfielder department (relatively speaking)

3. Priorities are left mid, left back, striker and poss centre back before looking at this type of signing

PS - good point above on his fragility, too. Think he would regress under Rafa. He would probably have 5 nans by the time Rafa is done with him.

Gerrard, Aquilani and Benayoun - three players for the central spot in the 3 behind the striker in our 4-2-3-1 system. Given need for left back, left mid, striker and poss centre back, I'd say we are relatively stocked in the position Ireland would play for us.

Of course, should one of Aquilani or Benayoun move on, Ireland would be a good replacement. If Stevie moves on we can think bigger (if the fee can be reinvested).

Ireland is a good player, but shouldn't be a priority for us based on players we currently have and needs we currently have.

Footballer in expensively-decorated-but-ridiculously-appalling-home shocker. The place has all the requisite features to be a stunning home, but instead is dressed in tinsel to fit the garish look-at-me Footballer and WAG lifestyle. I mean fucking hell! Did they get Llewellyn-Bowen's cumstains off the pink bedspread in time?
