Apologies if this has been done before but I've been trying to make sense of the league points we've lost this season and just going through the fixtures on .tv I noticed a trend.

Of the 13 points we've dropped this season 11 of them have been after we've played in midweek.

Here are I think all the midweek games we've played and the game we've played immediately after:

beat Standard Liege (A) then we beat Sunderland (A)

beat Standard Liege (H) then we drew with Villa (A)

beat Marseille (A) then we drew with Stoke (H)

beat Crewe in CC (H) then we beat Everton (A)

beat Eindhoven (H) then we beat City (A)

drew with Atletico (A) then we beat Chelsea (A)

beat Portsmouth (H) then we lost to Spurs (A)

drew with Atletico (H) then we beat West Brom (H)

lost to Spurs in CC (A) then we beat Bolton (A)

no midweek game then we drew with Fulham (H)

beat marseille (H) then we drew with West Ham (H)

beat PSV (A) then we drew with Hull (H)

We've had 6 wins after midweek games, 5 of which have been away from home

4 draws, 3 of them at home.

And 1 defeat away.

Interestingly, the fulham draw came after Internationals in midweek

After other internationals we have beaten boro, united and wigan and have had to come from a goal down in all those games.

Basically, we've struggled after midweek games and now with a break between the next european round, international games it'll be interesting to see if our results improve.

The difference between winning and losing is so small in the pL that when one team plays midweek and the other doesnt, it acts almost as a leveller.

In other words, teams that dont play midweek in europe of league cup etc have a big advantage now and are able to compete against those teams who have played in midweek.

So what! Were top arnt we? Get behind Rafa and the team and be the twelve man. And fucking enjoy being top if the second half of the season is like it usually is. We are in for a great time. So stop with all the fucking negitivity and get behind Rafa and his team damn.
