Aye, a bit of PR for Ferrari (some beast that is).

I know Schumacher had a lot of input into the FXX development, and still has a technical advisory role at Ferrari.

As they said, the FXX has a very exclusive ownership register, most of whom have names that start with "Sheikh". The cars are kept at Marinello (I think) so the owners can visit and drive their FXX. I've not read up on it but I don't think the car has been classed as road legal (slick tyres and all that).

I read somewhere that Schumacher owns an FXX, so that was probably his motor on show. He is also probably the most highly qualified owner so was allowed to have the car brought over for the day. To post a lap time for it, why not have him as the Stig for the day.

I don't think for one minute he actually was the Stig all along. Like a lot of people, I think it's Ben Collins, but for occasional power laps they have other drivers filling in.

On the show itself, it's nice to know James May isn't always the laid back gentleman he's portrayed as. Some of the things he encountered piss me right off as well.

That FXX was amazing. Not only the 7 seconds it smashed number 2 by, but it was just a really nice looking car as well. It looked a lot like an enzo but with an added bit on the front, and spoiler bits across the back. Very nice though in black.

And yea, it seems that it was just his FXX, so he is the stig for the day.

Ferrari has built 30, expanding the original 29 that were planned. These have all been sold to pre-selected past Ferrari customers, with the exception of one which was retained by Ferrari S.p.A. Ferrari's F1 World Champion driver, Michael Schumacher, received the 30th. Schumacher's FXX differs from others in that it is the only black FXX without a stripe, it comes with red trim on the wheels, it has matte exhaust tips (regular FXX's have chrome tips), and his personal logo is stitched on the racing seats.

The Stig is not Schumacher, he is fact a rally driver from Bristol, I shit you not.

The guy had some holiday snaps developed (why the fuck he hasn't a digital camera I don't know) and there were a couple of him there in all the gear.

The woman who served him in the shop took duplicate copies of the photos and contacted the press, the guy was close to losing his job like the original Stig (who revealed himself as the Stig) as he is meant to be completely unknown and the BBC have done this as a cover up.
