I don't know if we'll be sold, I doubt it as FSG will price us out of the market imo. But one thing I am fairly certain of is that nothing will happen before the new stand opens. No chance FSG miss that photo opportunity, they like to turn up to be photographed with shiny things.

The game really has lost some if it’s magic pretty rapidly for me. It probably does sound fickle but I can’t imagine ever feeling the highs of that Barcelona win, winning in Madrid, winning in extra time at Villa in 2019 or Mo sealing it at home to United in 2020.

Maybe some of them also like to win, not just compete.

I for one, agree with such an approach to this football stuff.

What, win at any cost?  Our 'competitor' clubs are cheating and winning so we need to cheat more so we win?

The DDR, Soviet Union and a few other countries used to dope athletes on a national scale to win gold and set records. I guess they liked to win not just compete?

It really is bizarre, there are posts and posts going back years by people going on about city cheating, newcastle will be cheating, chelsea cheating etc, etc. But when it comes down to it, those same people are going 'Well let's join in the cheating and cheat more than them so we win'?

How will that 20th league title and 7th Champions League feel deep down when 'we' are no longer any different to city or newcastle or chelsea under Abramovich? Deep down, I'll feel like they truely do have fucking asterisks against them. I'll start following Marine when that day comes.

Does anyone in authority or the media etc and frankly most fans really not count or downgrade Man City's trophies.....?

Answer - No.

It is shite - it does stink, but nobody REALLY cares.

It is a race to the bottom and sadly we are well into have to join them to beat them territory.....the game is rotten and you either be as rotten if want to win or you win nothing and stand shouting 'oh yeah but we are different' whilst nobody else gives a fuck.

Only those in power could change all this, but they won't and it is too late now - rot is already well and truly set in.

IMO the Government needs to take action to save the Premier League and frankly the game. State backed investors have no place in the game really, but once one team does it, the rest can be as we have seen totally outspent and outgunned and so the slide into oil-money and middle-eastern ownership of football continues as the rest are desperate to catch up and we now see Newcastle and there will be more and more. This doesn't happen in Germany of course where the 50+1 rule ensures fan input.

As a Liverpool fan I hate what game has become but it's not up to the club to fall on the sword. It's up to the people who run country and game to reset game and bring back fairness - they haven't and won't so here we are and of course if clubs are already getting the huge advantages they enjoy due to their ownership models then others will think why can't we enjoy same or why should we be disadvantaged.

It is shite, but this is what the playing field is now.

I agree, the government does need to step in and save the game, but it won't, because it plays to more or less the same rules itself.  I'd hate for LFC to be bought out by one of these cunts though.  That would make it very easy to fuck the whole thing off.  It's one thing being seen as the source of a quick buck, but it's a whole different matter being used to seedily paint some respectability onto one of these murderous inhuman regimes.    I've followed Liverpool for 50 years, but I wouldn't buy into that shit.  It's only football, for fuck's sake.

And the huge shit stained wheel will of course continue to turn without you, dockers, me or anyone else who decides to walk away - replaced by people from a lengthy queue of people ultra keen and perfectly happy to follow the shitshow.

Games, cups and titles will continue to be won and lost - the money will continue to flow, the hype etc will continue and all the one upmanship, tribalism etc online will continue - this is what footy is now.

The record books will show who won what and there won't be an asterisk in sight or a fuck given how it was won.

It stinks to fuck, but it has already been happening for nigh on 20 years - it will only accelerate now with you and I or without us.

The FFP has been abandoned, without it there is no cheating, its a free for all, spend what you have availible.

The only thing important now is not to go into administration.

I have followed the reds since 1964 and loved most of it. IMO the birth of the premier league was when the slide began and now we are in the era of oligarchs and sports washing states buying clubs and pumping money in with no fear of FFP being used to regulate. The Manc Qatari’s laughed when charged and the Paris Qataris received a slap on the wrist when they were caught. How the fuck do you allow FFP rules not to apply to Chelsea for a season just to get new owners?? Under the oligarch they hoovered up a lot of young talent and sent them all out on loan to the detriment of other clubs who operated in that area . Their reward is an open chequebook for this season!!  All of the above are why I have almost fallen out of love with the game and I haven’t touched on rule tweaking, shite refs, FIFA, UEFA  and tv pundits. So fuckin sad!!

Morals and football.

I think a lot of people probably said they'd stop attending games when tickets got to £30, but most didn't.

I think a fair few were unhappy when we first appointed a foreign manager.

Or when we started touring the far East.

Or when we played the kids in the Carabao Cup when the first team were in Qatar.

Or when we sacked Kenny in 2012.

Or when we appointed Hodgson.

Or when we tried to join the ESL.

Its a nasty business, we try and keep clean but its increasingly harder.  And ultimately, we love winning trophies.  That's how you pay respect to the teams of the past, by being competitive and winning things. If Qatar have money to use for social mobility in the city then it's a gift horse.

The difference between us and Man City/Newcastle is that we aren’t a small shit club all of a sudden thrown a seat at the top table. We’ve earned our place at the table and nobody bats and eyelid when. Barca/Real Madrid/Bayern/Man Utd spend big.

I will definitely lose a bit of love for it all if it happens though.

I don't know whether people are willingly trying to frame this as an issue about the amount of money a potential owner has, and our right to spend it based on historic success over other clubs, to make themselves feel better or if they genuinely feel like that's the issue people have.

The issue is how any potential owner, especially when it comes to nation states, treats it's people and people in it's country and how you reconcile that against your own morale's.

We like to pontificate endlessly about what being a Liverpool supporter means, about it's socialist principles about togetherness and looking out for each other yet we'd sell it all down the river, POTENTIALLY, to human rights abusers for the chance to win a transfer window.

No one likes nfl, it's fucking shite.

I remember when I was school in the mid 80's and NFL (or Grid Iron as it was back then) was gaining popularity one of my class mates asked my sports teacher if we could have a go at NFL.
Now the sports teacher was a big burly welsh man and his reply was why would you want to play Rugby for pooftahs when we're going to play proper Rugby?    Always makes me laugh when I see NFL on the TV and think back to Mr Evans comments.

The NFL keyrings you used to get in the early 90's were class though.
