But he was part of a band and its the collection of musicians and vocalists that should be judged. Pink Floyd passed me by as I can barely stand songs over around four minutes long,much longer and it simply becomes self indulgent. This put me off Dire Straits too.

The Specials are one of the few bands that never get old for me.

 

I’d describe Pink Floyd as a bit earnest. I’m sure they’re a musicians’ musicians type but where’s  the fun, the spontaneity?
