It is what it is with Thiago....we know we will get him for maybe two thirds of our games.

 

The problem is the fucking massive drop off in both the availability and quality of the cover.

I absolutely love Thiago, enjoy watching him more than any other player we have. But when he's played 24 and 25 premier league matches in his two seasons with us it's not exactly unfair to say he's missing for 1/3 of our matches is it?

I hoped Arthur might become a lesser version of Thiago and be able to fill in for him against lesser opposition or come on for Thiago for the last twenty minutes of matches, but it doesn't feel like that is going to happen.

He played in the premier League 2 game yesterday. I dunno which role he filled. There'll be no choice but to use him as you've described, because we have nobody. Well unless he nails down the right mid role.
