There are six positive and we know Watford and Burnley account for 4 of them. The team shouting loudest having 50% of the positive results isn't a great look.

I thought Burnley was not tested as a team

Edit - never mind, it was Norwich that was not included.

There's only 1 PL club that didnt take part in those testing results. These are results for 19 of the 20 clubs It;s possible Spurs or arsenal are the other club but not for both of them to be.

Norwich are the team we're waiting on, they're just back from a training camp in Wuhan.

What an absolute lark if it turns out Deeney has it already. It’s just a pity only 3 clubs can go down this year — room enough for Watford, Villa, Brighton and West Ham all to drop

Aren't the tests being done by an independent company, not the clubs medical staff themselves? The way certain clubs have acted during this saga has been transparently self-centred, but I can't believe they'd go so far as to get players or staff deliberately infected.

Can’t Rose just refuse to participate like Deeney, if he feels that strongly. However, I’d like to drag him to the nearest hospital so he can tell the ICU staff about his lab rat status.

He could and meet a friend of ours- a doctor who's into his third month of having to self-isolate in a caravan on his drive because his wife and two young children are in the vulnerable category. If he feels that his job as a footballer is just entertainment, maybe he could make that argument more forcefully and take a reduction in salary to a level more appropriate to his importance to society.

Lab rats the cheeky bastard he thinks they're the canary testing it out, he needs to look around and see millions of people still working because they have to. It's fine to be anxious or not want to play, just don't play! refuse too but don't make out youre hard done by and you don't have choice because out of most of society top flight footballers have a financial freedom and security most people could only fantasize about. You can earn in a week what takes ordinary workers a decade to earn.. one fucking week, a bit of training a 90 minute game compared to 40hrs plus for 10 years of shit for fuck all.

Danny doesn't want to play then don't play! but top flight footballers are not the sacrificial lambs in this pandemic and when they are requested to go back to work like most the country has been they will be far more protected than almost anybody else.

I've no issue with him being scared to play or refusing too.

It is concerning me that they are following the governments advice on self isolation (i.e. 7 days, with household members for 14) we've found some of our patients/staff are still shedding 12 to 13 days after initial symptoms.

Also it would be interesting to know how many tests they are undertaking on each player prior to giving them the all clear, false negatives and false positives (to a far lesser extent) are a pretty significant issue. Also it would be useful to know whether the players were being asked to undertake the swabs/ antibody tests themselves.

There's plenty to nitpick in what Troy Deeney says if you are so inclined, but ultimately I think he is to be applauded for not giving in to peer pressure on this. No-one should be forced to go into work if they are scared about what might happen and that should be the case whether you are rich or you are poor. Yes, Deeney is rich by any objective standards, but as Chris Rock once noted: "Shaq is rich. The white guy signing his checks is wealthy". Don't fall for the divide-and-conquer tactics of the plutocracy.

Spot on.

He's shown himself to be nothing but a massive bellend in all this.
