If he’s bet on his own team, whilst playing in that team, 12 months feels quite light

It does but he's apparently helped with the investigation and ad.itted it so reduced from 3 to 1 most likely.

The excuse did t work for Toney so shouldn't for him. Though it looks like the Italian FA will run in and conveintly like Rossi in the 80s the ban they've given Nicolò Fagioli a 12 month ban with 5 months suspended so he will be back mid may one month before Euro 24. You better believe Tonali and Nicolo Zaniolo will get the same

Maybe I'm wrong here but I'm sensing a cynical tone. The Italians relegated their 2 biggest clubs, last season they hammer Juve again. They have put the PL/FA to shame. The PL has been won by cheats for 10 years. That wouldn't happen on the Italians watch.

They didn't really have much choice with Juventus as it went past football and onto actual magistrates. Many people got away with wrongdoings and the league took so long in many of the other clubs and officials that the statued limitations past and many were never sentenced. Milan hardly punished,Inter pretty much got away freely and dominated on the back of it.

They've done a better job than the PL yes, but this is more them looking after the national team than domestic. They also made sure they had the world cup played before going after everyone days later.

The oy ones who take it seriously are the EFL
