Wijnaldum has been really poor this season with exception of Arsenal and City games at home. Really liked him last year, perhaps the playing deeper means he is not getting in as many goal scoring positions but for a player who has scored as many goals in his career his shooting is often so poor.

He was at his most anonymous last night, and the fee is a bit of a millstone round his neck, but I think he's a very useful player. Quick of thought and movement, comfortable receiving the ball under pressure and moving it on quickly. It doesn't sound a lot but is more than can be said of our other midfielders and I think are qualities that will benefit us with more dynamic players around him, I'd imagine Keita will benefit from Wijnaldum supporting him.

I have no idea how a player can have so little impact in a team that has mostly 70% possession, but that can be said about most of our midfielders allot of the time, but Wiji it is always.

I’ve said for a while that I think he’d be a top class DM. Despite whether he’s sometimes non-existent he’s a very clever footballer, deceptively strong and is brilliant in the air he’s also very quick over 5/10 yards.
