Everton (H) Match Thread

It was around this point last season that we started to click a bit.

I think it'll happen again this season. Can't base it on anything other than that we have the Indian sign over them recently, and that their defence is porous (not just from set pieces/crosses), but I'm confident that we'll do them.

Sturridge will hopefully be back. That'll bring a whole new dimension to our play. Will bring more out of Balotelli too, I feel.

Plus, I think Lallana has started to look a bit sharper.

We need to be a lot more decisive on the ball though. Is Coutinho match fit? If so, he has to start. A bit out of form. He's playing like Luis Garcia at the moment. Trying some silly things. But at least he's taking risks with the ball. His passes will eventually start coming off again, and with Sturridge back in the team (hopefully) running beyond a dodgy Everton back line, Coutinho has to be in, for me.

I'll go 3-1.

I'd be tempted to have a dabble on an Everton centre half to score anytime, probably from a set piece. Think Lallana will open his account too.

Well, it was this week a year ago that Suarez returned to the team.

Hopefully Sturridge returning can give us the same impact, we miss his pace and someone making the runs to combine with Sterling. We also need a settled team, the team pretty much picked itself for most of last season, we could do with getting back to a more consistent selection where possible.

Everton still seem to shit themselves when they play us and as they've just had two very bad results themselves I'm hoping for more of the same.

This is more likely to be 14-13 than 1-0 both sides are coming under fire for their shambolic defending. If there is one man even more clueless about defending it is Martinez. 13 goals conceded in their first 5 games in the league so far is the most in the league.

Be interesting if Everton adopt a different approach as last season they thought they could outfootball us. That did not end well for them. In fact both us and them have a few things to ponder on how we go at other teams. Although being a derby may force the issue somewhat but if Everton do open up then we should get the 3 points.
