Take the charmingly named "Summer Slags and Tits" thread, for example.  There are guys on there who have put serious time and effort into displaying the fruits of their research.  Are they trying to prove that they're TLW's top shagger?

Why do they spend their time posting photos of women they'll never get to fuck?

They spending some of their time looking at women. It’s not just limited to fat, middle aged men either. Men of all ages, shapes and sizes look at women they can’t have sex with. I suspect it is because they like looking at beautiful women who they find sexually attractive. Women do this too, to both men and women. Gay men look at other men they can’t fuck. It’s part of the human make-up of most people.

 

What do they hope to achieve by doing this?

Enjoyment, sexual excitement, sometimes orgasm. They are visually excited by a - to them - more sexually attracted I’ve person than they can mate with.

No, it isn’t. Although I don’t think it takes serious time and commitment to copy the links over, I do think this is a different point to your first one. Are you objecting to women being looked at or are you annoyed that there are threads here that are dedicated to it?

 

You mentioned earlier, in another thread, about discussing her acting attributes. Why can’t we do both, or choose to value one over the other? It’s okay for a women to want to be looked at as sexually attractive, for whatever reason she likes. Women can be more than one thing. They can be great actresses and they can be sexy. Same with men. Brad Pitt, who has been looked at for decades in women’s magazines with his top off. He’s also starred in great films.

OK. Sexism is bad. The ubiquity of sexualised imagery and the tendency to ignore women's achievements and to judge them solely on their looks is also very bad.

 

Does that mean it's never acceptable to perv at pictures of fit lasses? Absolutely not.

 

I've spent years trying to carve a niche as the forum's Stan/Loretta, but even I wouldn't go quite as far as that.
