*Shakes head* Everton again.

One would assume Burnham would win the Metro mayor , so Anderson would presumably then have very little power to sway large decisions re funding without Burnham's support & while Andy is a blue, he doesn't seem to be as rabid as Anderson and likely to push bad deals just because of football allegiance.

But evil red Steve Rotheram has the Labour candidacy.

It will be somehow our fault if they don't get everything they want

Sorry Pesti, had a mare there , getting mixed up with the Manc mayorals.

Even better though with decisions being made in meetings while Fat Joe is out making coffee for everyone.

All things considered though, Anderson should be trying to help Everton build a stadium in Liverpool.

Despite what we think, it will generate extra income, employment and up the status of the city(especially if it can hold concerts etc).

It is his job to help things like this happen as the elected Mayor of Liverpool.

Of course what he can't do is dodgy deals or spend a penny of Council Tax payers money in helping Everton FC, whilst having to make so many cuts to services elsewhere.

Everton or most PL teams could fill a 55-60k stadium by drastically lowering ticket prices and letting kids go free etc. Whether that makes building it cost effective is another point, and why the finances need to be scrutinised closely.

Now I don't trust the odious little bastard one bit, I think he's corrupt and perfectly willing to bend the law and take backhanders to help Everton get their stadium. I hope his/their Finch Farm deal is exposed as corrupt and he's thrown in jail, Everton fined and have to declare bankruptcy and relegated to Div2.

When's the grand opening then? Next home game?

Judging by the social media reaction, I can only presume they've already built this stadium and it's good to go?

Be patient.

Joe said last summer that it would be within three years - so we'll have to wait another 29 months before we see them playing there.

That Usmanov link looks genuine though....

It's his and Moshiri's jointky owned company, USM, who are sponsoring Finch Farm.

Hopefully some of that money will find it's way back to the Council Tax payers as they are merely tenants at Finch Farm. City had to pay when their owners basically sponsored themselves to try to dodge FFP.
