Without wanting to jinx his next one, I feel really confident nowadays when he's on a pen. Makes a change from when he had that poor spell coming straight after Owen's poor spell when a penalty was about as much use as a corner (one of our corner's at that).

I remember where he had missed a peno he said he would never take another one for Liverpool again. Am I right or suffering from lunacy?

 

Think it was the 1-1 against Tottenham an Anfield (think it was 05 when we were 5th and chasing 4th for Cl qualification). He had a chance to win the game in the last few minutes and hit the post if memory serves me correctly.

 

Afterwards he said he woundn't take one again....

It was the 2-2 against spurs when he sliced it wide.

Luckily big Sami scored moments later to equalise,after the game he said he would never take another pen hence why he never took the penalty in Istanbul.
