Another thing, why are we signing a new right back, did we not sign one last summer?

What does this tell us about the man who now has got total control of everything at the club?

Does he really have control of what he is doing?

Oh fuck off.

Rafa signed two shit full backs last summer, and currently wants to replace another full back he signed. He is great at signing full backs. NOT.

Do you like Arbeloa? Aurelio? Insua?

You are great at talking sence. NOT.

And Josemi.

The thing is though, no one here is claiming Rafa infallible inthe transfer market, whereas mongs like yourself and Code there want to make out like he's never made a good signing, you just totally ignore the good stuff.

You're the most boring tedious bastards on these boards looking to turn any "debate" into a "Rafa is shit" thread.

Parry signed Degen now did he? Fucking hell, I can't wait til that excuse is no more.

He was free. He was an established international. He got too many injuries. We signed him as we had greater transfer priorities. He will be sold for a profit.

Signing wasn't brilliant by Rafa but it was low risk.

checkmate

Hate to break it to you, but not really, like in every business you delegate powers to make less significant decions to your employees but you take the influental ones yourself as they can have rather big influence on your business.

Says a lot about Aurelio and Arbeloa if Rafa is trying to replace them every summer eh? Some of you lot are thick bastards follwing a pied piper in Rafa.... Get a fucking opinion.

Like your opinion? The one that changes depending on which way the wind blows.

Could it be he knew Degen was an attacking right-back, something we didn't have at the club at the time. Perhaps Rafa felt signing him on a Bosman was a low risk way of seeing if his tactical plan of attacking full-backs would work within his tactical system. He perhaps couldn't afford to go for the likes of Bosingwa, Maicon or Daniel Alves in case the system didn't work with them, also knowing that other areas needed reinforcement. The funds saved could go into other areas, such as another main striker, a back up striker and goalkeeper, and a left winger. It turned out Degen was made of glass, which didn't matter so much since Arbeloa started to become more adventurous in terms of attacking play.

Rafa has since decided that his system can accommodate a more attack-minded right back, and would like to go for somebody who looks ready to step into the mould of an international class attacking full back. He knows this could cost big money but is prepared to gamble now as he knows he could have the next Maicon in the ranks.

At the risk of repeating myself and others, Code, what is it with you and Rafa? Did you bump into him in a tapas bar somewhere, and he blanked you when you asked for "a couple of cervezas"? For all Rafa's faults, he is trying to bring the club a more positive outlook in the face of internet warriors like yourself.

Code72, Ted, TT....do you not get a little worried about the righteousness of your stance when you see who is agreeing with you? By no means am I advocating being a sheep but you are not forming your own opinion if all you are doing is purposefully taking the opposite side to the manager on whatever crops up.

Rafa's crystal ball isn't as good as Rashid's, Ted's and Code72's so he couldn't tell Degen would be injured for the whole season. Maybe we should get Mystic Meg as CEO.

You have a few pawns to regroup as far as I can see, get back to that instead.

For the record I do rate Arbeloa and Aurelio and hence why I'd prefer to spend the money replacing Kuyt and Riera. PS thank God the Parry excuse is no longer.... Fucking hell.

Riera is currently holding his place in the best national team in the world.

Would`nt it be just as mad spending loads of money on Silva replacing a player who currently keeps him out of the national side?

just a thought?
