Seems a bit unlucky when there are hundreds of bastards just folding companies and leaving debts behind with barely a backward glance every year. As an example will any of those involved in the millions lost over the Royal hospital scandal ever end up slopping out. I doubt it.

It’s ridiculous. I’ve no idea who is meant to be benefitting from him being sent to prison except for wealthy companies getting their pound of flesh courtesy of the judiciary. I still don’t understand why people convicted of this type of crime get started in the hardcore prisons either.

Not to be picky mate, but he was 17 in 1985. He did win Wimbledon in 89 though, so I don't doubt he donated his winnings!

It was when he got £25k for winning the Wirral Open a few years later

Brian Reade mentioned it in the Mirror yesterday

I never mentioned Wimbledon. It was a tournament at Wirral. I did get his age wrong.

Seeing Boris Becker trending on Twitter today brought back memories of when the lifelong Bayern Munich fan won the Wirral International Tennis Trophy in June 1989 and immediately donated his £25,000 prize money to the Hillsborough Disaster Fund. He was just 21 at the time.
