Well boys it's the cricket world cup, how does everyone (who's interested) think England will do? Personally, i think if we can reproduce the form we showed in the latter stages of the one dayers in Oz, we are definitely in with a shout. We should make it through the group stages, and anything's possible then. COME ON ENGLAND!!

I don't think England will last a whole tournament. On their day they can beat anyone, but I don't think they can do it consistently and they collapse too easily and too often under a little pressure.

BTW after seeing the barmy army at first hand in Oz, i've got a completely different take on them, they took the piss out of the Aussies BIG time, it was fucking hilarious AND it got to the Aussie crowd!! There are a couple of twats with them (the Peter Stringfellow lookalike for one, i never met him, but my mates say he's a fucking bum, and most of the barmy army hate the cunt as well), but mostly they're just out to get pissed and have a laugh.

I can't pick a winner though, it's really open this time around. It's between Australia, South Africa, India and Sri Lanka I think, but any one of them could win it.

 

I'm looking forward to England v New Zealand on Friday, I've booked the day off work and am going to watch the game in the pub.

Aus are gonna come good, all the good players coming back in except Lee.

I predict Tait is going to be the bowler of the tournament and Symonds looks like he will be fit for the third group game and definitely the knockout games.

 

It's the hitting power which often makes a difference Aus has Punter, Gilly, Symmonds, Hayden who can all go crazy and hit scores very fast while a team like England has Pietersen and sometimes Freddy no one else with real power.

Aussies will re-group and probably win it I think. SA could do it but I don't think they will . England will probably go out in the round following the group stages. Youth, the lack of a quality bowling attack and the usual middle order collapse will do them. I hope I'm wrong.

I'm going for the windies to go all the way and win it....1st home team to ever win it. Also would put India or Sri-Lanka in the mix....both sides extremely balanced in all areas and have the right type of bowlers to take advantage of the slow wickets on offer.

 

Young Players to make an impact imo are Ross Taylor of NZ, Robin Uthappa of India, Tharaga of Sri Lanka and Shane Bond of NZ is my prediction of bowler of the tourney....best bowler in the world bar none when fit and firing imo.

Did anybody see the finish to the Ireland Vs Zimbabwe match? It was quite a tense finish, Ireland earned a draw but they might have won it with a little bit more fortune. However, I'm not sure I heard many Irish accents during the post match interviews.

I watched the whole game, yeah there were some strange accents flying around. A great match, though. I was rooting for those crazy paddies all the way, I wonder if Rondeco was getting behind his team now that he loves cricket!
