Think 6 is the overwhelming need in midfield.

 

We have lots of #8/#10's, and some #6/#8's we lack a really dominant #6.

I always thought he'd end up at Real Madrid. The resounding success of Bellingham's first season might encourage both Real and him in that regard. Just a hunch though.

trent till his bosman to madrid will be one. and endo and macca will fill the other role.

There will be a lot of wages off the books. If Salah goes his wages alone are high. Thiago, Matip and Adrian are on the same as salah combined. 

 

Then basically anyone else getting moved on like Kelleher.

He alternates between a 433 and 4231 and we have plenty of the other more progressive player in a double pivot (Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Jones, Bajcetic, Trent etc). It's the least advanced of the two we're lacking.

 

Koopmeiner (who we've been linked with on and off) scored  a fair amount of goals in the double pivot for him so you'd imagine Mac Allister would be ideal for that role as well as doubling up as an option at #10.

That's just an opportunity to save money. And if Salah goes, we'll have to replace him, which won't be cheap.

Said on the other thread I doubt the fee we get for Salah pays for the player we will need to bring in. There will be some savings on wages but not on the fee imo.

They'd play him at RB and he would probably put a shift in for them (for a couple of years, at least) - but he won't for us in that position.

Season before he scored 23 and assisted 9 though.

 

Either way it doesn't really impact the current incumbents, it's like when a new GM comes in at an NFL team, they get given reign to clear house because they can't be blamed for the mistakes before them.

There was clearly some ego thing going on behind the scenes with Edwards and Klopp before the former left.
