Musiala and Wirtz are similar to each other but nothing like Odegaard.

Wow. Thanks for the insight.

Care to elaborate? The former more dribbling focused than dictating play with quick passes? But when we're talking about creative players in the final third, that can creat goalscoring opportunity, they are all capable of filling the same role.

Anyway, for us it's probably as much about getting the most out of Mac Allister and Dom. Not a single season process, but a good start.

To be on the safe side though, we ought to keep persisting with Harvey/Mac/Szobo and also sign all 3 of Odegaard, Wirtz and Musiala and testing each one out. Better this way with all the options.....This is the best unreasonable idea I could come up with. *inserts whistling emoji*

So, the answer is try to get Mac Allister into the attacking third on a more consistent basis. Sound.

Mac Allister is a great double pivot player, so he offers discipline and an ability to add to the attack when there is security behind him. And you can put another creative player ahead of him.

In our system, that's whoever is playing on the right, mostly Szoboszlai, and then you have the front 3, who are goal getters. If you had another creative player in the front 3 like Wirtz, it would likely get redundant, and you're losing some goal threat. But some managers would not mind that.

I broadly agree, although I think Wirtz would increase our goal threat. Obviously, assuming he'd physically adapt to the league, got a great strike on him. My main thought on him is that if we were to sell Salah, I'd factor him into the plans, with Dom moving more to the right forward role.

Shame we're playing tonight, I'd quite like to watch the Leverkusen and Lille games to see a few players against prem opposition (Yoro and David as well).

You could play Wirtz as a 9 in our old setup, and it would work great. Now, I think you're changing quite a few things if you buy that sort of player. Benching some expensive investments.

Not how our transfers work but wouldn't be completely shocked if we didn't sign 2 of them (or two of a similar type to those).

They may have got those nationalities arse about face as well.

Sounds completely made up.

It is, like I said it's not how our transfers work.

The cross over is that we've been watching Inacio and we might look at a Defensive midfielder (although the Danish DM we've supposedly watching doesn't play for Sporting)

All joking aside, Jota excepted, if we can get anywhere near what we paid for the duds we’re carrying up front I’d accept them all and give the new lad in the money to rebuild it.

I was only saying the other day that I’d keep Diaz next season but I’d been drinking heavily that day so I’d like to retract that statement.
