Ah man. Another of that generation gone. I met him once in the Legend's Lounge and he was great.

Unsung hero.

Oh no. Davey Johnno was a cracking player who always gave 100%.

I remember him picking the ball up and slamming it into the chest of some goalie to massive cheers Kop end once in what had been one of those fractious games, 78/79 season, can't remember which one though.

Rest well Davey.

I last saw him outside Anfield after one of those many defeats in 2011-12, where we'd had a million chances to score and our opponents had one. I asked him if he still had his boots and he just managed a rueful half-smile, which was how we all felt at the time.

Rest in Power, Johnno.

what a fucking shame. met him quite a few times (nearly every time with alan kennedy) . the most memorable was one of the cup finals in cardiff (I think the league cup v man united) and him and alan kennedy were staying in our hotel. we ended up in a round with them on the piss till all hours. we used to drink in the sandon pre-match in those days and for a year or two after they would drop in occasionally to find us to have a pint on their way to anfield.

he used to absolutely hate the scouser tommy song, because of the rush bit at the end .... he was in the everton team that day.
