One of our forwards needs to keep closing down their keeper, because last time they all stood politely back while he teed himself up to blast the ball over our back four whenever he fancied it.

They had their first choice keeper last time, he’s brilliant at long passes, perhaps the best in the league. He’s injured this time.

I’m worried as fuck about this game, but happy he’s not playing.

Yep. But their other keeper tries to play the same role. Anyway, that's one old school thing I'm adamant still has value today - a forward putting a keeper under pressure every single time he collects the ball. They're allowed to faff around with it these days before passing or throwing it out. As even Alisson has shown, they've all got mistakes in them if a forward closes them down. And with Brentford, if the keeper has to rush his long kicks, it does make a difference.

Why do people insist on changing our formation, when that is what we've perfected, and mainly brought in players for (Shaq and Minamino being value deals we hoped would be able to transition to MF/Wingers)?

Jota and Bobby are perfect fits for their roles, we're just missing that RW with pace to get in behind Bobby. I'd prefer Gordon to Ox just for him being a better fit in that Salah role, but Ox has the pace and directness that COULD make it work. Let's hope he, Henderson and Trent can sort it out.

Fully agree. And even more important today, as this will clearly be their gameplan, to hit it long and high when we have committed numbers forwards.
