The United team in 81/82 was something like

Bailey
Gidman Buchan Moran Albiston
Coppell Ribson Wilkins Moses
Stapleton Birtles

None of Lindelof, Maguire, Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Fred, Elanga would have been anywhere near that team.

Isn't it great

Not currently.

Always thought Moran was a good defender, Robson was a brilliant midfielder and always liked Stapleton, especially the Arsenal version. Was never that big a fan of Wilkins but Coppell wasn't bad. The current team would be in or around their level.

As long as there is one in it, United have a chance. They have players with pace to be fair and City never like that. Pity Varane isn't playing because Maguire is a complete donkey and against City it is almost laughable.

For City’s second goal Maguire letting the ball go through his legs not knowing what’s behind him is basics of defending 101 there’s just no excuse not to just clear for a corner kick in that situation and reset.

That will end up on one of his YouTube sarcastic "masterclass" compilations.
